Flippin' cervix...?

Body:

Hey ladies,
I have read nearly all new threads on this forum almost religiously since I discovered my rectocele about 11 months ago (8 months postpartum with second child,) but haven't really posted as most of my questions could be answered with a quick search...but I am having some troubles with this one, and I am hoping someone can help. First off, I have been "diagnosed" with a mild rectocele by my gp and then with a mild cytocele and rectocele by my pt. I have since diagnosed myself with a mild uterine prolapse (sits just shy of 2" in at its lowest and about 2.5" at it's highest....I am thinking mild prolapse...?) my husband and I are considering another child (would be #3) and so I have been putting some serious effort into understanding my cycle and body in hopes of calming my fears of worsening my prolapse by embarking on another pregnancy. Annnnyyyways. I am now about a week post ovulation and my cervix decided that its normal position on theanterior wall of my vagina was not doing the trick and it seems to have flipped....now it is "hanging" straight down. During early pregnancy with my second child my dr mentioned in passing that I had a retroverted uterus and that it was no big deal. As I got bigger the whole shebang flipped over, as I understand they are prone to doing during pregnancy, and I never thought about it again. Since my littlest was born I have encountered this change in position one other time (before my menstrual cycle started back up) around 9 months pp. anyone have any insight on why the flipping around?
***side note, I do use whole woman posture as much as humanly possible, I do have sciatica problems which makes it difficult at times, but iam trying my damndest. I also do excersizes prescribed by my pt, and spend a fair bit of time on hands and knees.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Hi Norah - there have been some problems on the site, and I'm afraid your post might have gotten a little buried.

I'm not an expert on this type of thing, but I do know that we have plenty of moms who have gone on to have more babies quite successfully after discovering prolapse. Continue to cultivate the posture until it becomes second nature. If your PT recommended kegels, please reconsider after taking a look at Christine's blog articles; this is a subject that has been covered in depth.

Everything about the WW work aims toward the goal of returning the pelvic organs to their proper positions. For most issues that arise on this forum, correcting the posture is the beginning of improvement. Make it a priority! Maybe some of the super prolapse moms will stop by and throw in some thoughts about the things you have described. - Surviving
