UTI infection and bladder prolapse

Body:

I have bladder prolapse and have a UTI i am taking cipro. has anyone else taken it and how long for it to work, tired of the pain and feeling i need to go all the time

Federal regulators are ordering new warnings on Cipro and similar antibiotics because of increased risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture. (The absolute last thing you need is to take a med that messes with connective tissue!!!!)
The new warnings apply to fluoroquinolones, a class of antibiotics that includes the popular drug Cipro. The FDA has told companies that the drugs must now carry "black box" warnings alerting doctors and patients that the drugs can increase risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture in some patients.

Also, I've had success treating bladder infections with d-manose, garlic, probiotic, cranberry juice and lots of water (I mean enough to pee clear!) and vitamin C. Keep it up after the infection is gone for a good long time (14 days at least). Pee on hands and knees every time.

Also, avoid all sugar (even fruit except cranberry and blueberry) and other bladder irritants like coffee.

and feel better! sorry you are dealing with this right now. I know it sucks.

Dear Zena,
When I have had the first signs of a UTI, usually shooting pain on urination, or urethra discomfort, I take Citravescent or Ural here in Australia. It is a powder that you drink just after it is added to water while it is fizzing. This helps with the pain while urinating, until further action can be taken if necessary.
Do what Alemama suggests with peeing on all fours as that will clear the bladder of residual urine.
Best wishes

thank you both,im stoping the cipro

Your list of natural things to use for bladder infections is very helpful, alemama. I might also mention the pineapple juice mentioned in another post.

Thanks for mentioning the need for enough water to 'pee clear'.

I'm trying cinnamon in my daily smoothie -- which is supposed to help. Avoiding sugars and caffeine is proving helpful too.

:-)

P.S. I haven't been following this regime for 14 days yet, so maybe I'll be able to report success soon
