FIRE BREATHING WORKS

Body:

so I've been doing the fire breathing pretty regularly and today I worked up the courage to check on my prolapse (I stopped doing that because it wasn't improving and it was nothing but anxiety provoking to keep checking) and ITS VISIBLY SMALLER.
I honestly cannot believe this. I mean even though I could *feel things moving up with the breathing and I believe in the posture, etc, I didnt think it would *really work for me?!
especially since joining this site over a year ago things have gotten progressively worse, I thought I was just an unlucky one and wouldn't see improvement.
but this fire breathing is helping me

I want to sing it from the treetops

THANK YOU CHRISTINE!

I'm talking about the cystocele, btw

Yeah Granolamom, I am so happy for you!

This is such wonderful news! From where I stand now, I believe the posture stabilizes most cases of prolapse and only exercise that intensifies the posture and the firebreathing are the definitive "movers." Thank you Granolamom for hanging in with us and believing in this work!!! (((g-mom)))

Wow. I'm so glad to hear it. Gives me inspiration to keep going with it too. Keep us posted on your progress. I know what you mean about checking. I've stopped checking for the most part, too. I just know I'm a gazillion times better overall than I was when I first showed up here. Not perfection, but lots of progress. There's an ongoing shift in mental perception about what is actually possible. Then, things open up wide. On the down days, though, hopelessness and despair are the tough battles.

Continued wellness!

Just wanted to share my observations about Whole Woman Fire Breathing. I have worked up to 2 minutes of WWFB 2 or 3 times per day. Today for the first time, I bumped it up to 2 minutes 30 seconds, and I wanted to keep going, but I remembered Christine's advice to take it gradually since this is so powerful. At this point, it is hard for me to imagine 5 or 10 consecutive minutes, but I guess I'll get there with patience. Early on, I only did a few breaths at a time because I was more concerned with proper technique than with time or number of repetitions. Now I feel quite comfortable with the movement of the abs, butt, lips - and things are much smoother. Also early on, I examined my cystocele while doing a practice breath, and I could feel the powerful "pulling up" during the exhalation - I can only hope that the long-term effects will be this dramatic! I wanted to add that after some initial lower back stress (probably from too vigorous movement), I now notice that my lower back is looser, more flexible and stronger after doing WWFB. I always feel "lighter" after WWFB (and occasionally lightheaded if I get carried away with the breathing). Finally, I have been reluctant to do any traditional abdominal strengthening exercises for fear of worsening my prolapse. WWFB seems to provide a safe way to strengthen abs and improve prolapse at the same time.

I'm glad you are finding it helpful. I did ask a bonafide kundalini yogi whether this was kundalini-like and here is what she said:

"This is more from classical hatha yoga. It is basically Uddiyana Bandha or Abdominal lock, which is always done on the exhale. When you hold the breath out and move the abdomen in and out (and up and down) it is called Agni Sera or Firewash, which purifies the digestive system and tones the abdominal muscles."
