Toilet tips

Body:

After my second very painful bladder infection and I figured out what was going on, I learned to empty my bladder this way:

I drop my pants all the way to the floor so I can spread my knees, lean forward so that my shoulders are at the tops my thighs or lower, and urinate in that position, with my head very close to the floor. I keep everything relaxed as I sit up, and the last little bit trickles out then. I then bend over to wipe, push everything in as I straighten up and tighten the perineal muscles as I stand. Straightening my legs while bent over seems to suck everything back into place.

I discovered this next one completely by accident, for defecation: When things are completely stalled out down there, I'd been giving myself a water enema rather than strain or shove it out with my finger. Once again, I was seated on the toilet and decided on the enema route and twisted towards the sink to fill up the thing I use. As soon as I twisted, everything started moving again. :) At first I thought I had started a conditioned reflex- but a little experimentation showed that twisting the torso some-- putting the opposite elbow on the thigh and one arm on the back of the toilet-- caused everything to move on out without getting diverted into the rectocele! I can only assume that the fascia in there gets pulled in exactly the right way by doing that.

Also, if things aren't moving, it helps to hum. I haven't figured out why, but it helps!

Anybody else have any tips to share? :) I searched the site and found a few suggestions, but didn't see any like mine, so I thought I should post this.

I have not had much success with water, but have from time to time used glycerin 'enimas' in order to help things. This really seems to work. I will definitely try twisting around like you mentioned, that is something I have not heard. Thanks for posting!

I found once that the twisting thing somehow seems to help - I thought it was just me lololol

And the leaning fwd thing then sitting up again and a loooooong breath out seems to help on the peeing thing for me too

Lol Guss it is nice to know it's not just me

Supadeja,
I've found that twisting left helps a lot, but turning right is only minorly helpful. How about you?

I find turning to the right works better than turning to the left - No idea why though.

I find that if I concentrate on relaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxing while turning right and left slowwwwwwwwwly then for some reason it must make the insides move like a snake and it makes life so much easier lol.

I think that the relaxxxxxxxing thoughts must do something inside cos it always works for me if I hold my breath then let out a longggggggggg slow exhale

I always thought it must be just me cos I had hernia surgery a while ago (Big slash about 5inches along belly) and I always wondered if I was just abnormal inside so it's nice to know I am normal(ish) :)
