When my prolapse is really bad

Hi.. I am concerned and wondering if that when my prolapse is really bad (which is a lot) and really fallen out.. then what I do is bend over and gently force it back in with my hand.. for a moment I feel scared that it is not going to fit back in but of course it does.. or at work I sit every opportunity to serve a customer and pretend I am a normal person.. and what is worrying me is 'am I bruising' my bladder or causing harm to the area by trying whatever I can to get by... I read this forum every day and thankful to you all for your questions and untiring efforts to support each other... I have alleviated a lot of fear and despair since finding this information 6 weeks ago... thankyou

I haven't heard anyone speak of feeling bruised, and I can tell you from personal experience with my profound uterine prolapse that I feel nothing but relief getting it shoved back up there. I also do some serious jiggling with some bouncing action to get my uterus on up there, which is always followed by firebreathing. Of course, with a cystocele you probably wouldn't have to be that dramatic with your jiggling. The uterus is such a heavy girl, she needs that extra little humpf to get her up there. If it felt bad, I certainly wouldn't do it, but I have had no problems at all.

I know you had some surgery, so your physical dynamics may be a little different, but you may want to try the jiggling and firebreathing several times a day, along with strong posture work: ww walking and the DVDs. How is your posture itself coming along? Could you tell us what your current routine is with this work?

Hi A Gracefully.. I have been practicing WW posture and it was a revelation at how much I could lift my chest as I had caved in thinking it was getting me by better.. but the posture has been a big improvement.. and getting better at not tightening tummy muscles.. (noticed that even when I woke up I would tighten).. have had some better days coping but had a really tough day today with fallout.. so yes I have been occasionally doing 1st and third wheel as well as I can.. and practicing fire breathing and nauli.. and some snippets online (not very flexible (yet) ) I did look up jiggling just earlier tonight to understand it so have tried it once just before.... I work in retail.. so quite a bit of walking round shop to set up but can sit to use computer and can sit to take in work from customers and can do a really good smile as if nothing is wrong.. I am lucky to have to job I do have .... so all in all doing ok with my new information so far..

Peacelilly, i have 'celes and I never found that it did much good to push them around......unlike the uterus which does respond to a nice gentle shove as AG says, if you can get it up over the pubic bones you are good for awhile. You have some old failed repairs so of course that alters the dynamics somewhat - but the goal is the same, to keep everything forward. If you can sit with a nice lumbar curvature and feel "normal", that tells me that your organs still have the ability to position themselves more or less where they belong. So carry on......prolapse has a way of staying on our minds all day long, but that's how we remember to stay in posture, after all - Surviving

Sounds like you have a good routine going there, peacelilly. Adding some jiggling and firebreathing several times a day may be beneficial for you. You are only 6 weeks into this, for some of us it can take longer to really start getting some relief from our symptoms. It took me several months to get over that initial really heavy feeling, and almost a year to truly feel the real benefit if this work. It has been a lifesaver for me in so many ways!

Oh ok.. I think I see what you both mean.. so with my having the uterus down and out that I would need the extra jiggle and shove compared to one who doesn't have a uterus falling down?? I think that is what you are tell me.. thankyou... the bruising I was meaning is with the pushing back in but obviously it must be an area that can take a lot (as it has to in our situation) so I guess it is ok..

Hi peacelilly, I have had a slight cystocele off and on. I didn't really recognize it until it bulged out a little one day. I have been so concentrated on my uterus that I didn't even notice this. I see what surviving says that pushing on it does nothing for it, but I found that jiggling and firebreathing really sucks it back in there. Hope some of this helps.

Agree - jiggling and firebreathing are absolute musts. For those like me who have primary cystocele/rectocele, we get a little extra help from the fact that our uterus isn't too low and it's on-the-job pulling the other organs forward. If you have had typical anterior/posterior repairs (which I think is the case from reading your other posts) these moves are most likely fine for you. - Surviving

So I am still a little unsure... so just to get some clarity... when my bulge is fully outside falling out of my vagina and well distended... I have to manually return it back in.. (and it is quite a push) (tho gentle) is that what others experience too? and sometimes when just maybe 1/4 way out (say at work) I have to sit down to cope and get it back in as much as I can in order to continue serving a customer... (is that what others might experience) and that is where I am wondering if the pressing on that part that is distended is potentially being bruised?? will definitely continue to do more firebreathing and jiggling (which I have just learned about last night) (Thankyou :) )

What are you pushing in? Is it the cervix (tough and muscular with an indentation) or is it squishy? - Surviving

The Thing is with the cystocele, you can push on it, but more than likely it will have little movement. If you are able to get it to move up a little more, then that is good, but immediately bend over, do some jiggling, followed by firebreathing. Try to start out by doing a minute or two of firebreathing at first, and then try to get it up to about 5 minutes, providing you don't have any health issues that would prevent you from that much intensity. But doing these actions daily really helps.
I don't think you are going to cause bruising. I have been pushing on my uterus for almost two years now, and haven't had any adverse affects.
I did notice that my bladder sucks up from the firebreathing a lot more easily than the uterus, probably because it is a lighter organ.
Be patient, it takes time to feel improvement, but you have to do the work to see it. Take this all slowly and don't strain yourself. Just incorporate these new habits as part of your lifestyle.

Ok, maybe I didn't read that right. I was thinking you meant bladder, but maybe it is the cervix?

I have dropped prolapse a n have burning all the time. I am always on antibiotics now clindamycin. they say I 2 infections now one in the bladder (was given levaquin first for 3 days) and now clindamaycin for for vagina one. One of the infections is a strep b and the other has a weird name like entoccas faeclis (not sure of spelling). Still on antibiotics have 6 left. concerned with burning. Feel better when I pee. also trouble peeing. finally some comes out. Do you think i need to get a lift like some call it or maybe need hysterectomy. This has been going on for 2 years or 3. What do you think? Maybe it will help. Also the caffeine burns and acidy food burns also. need help. Thanks.
