a newbie to bladder prolapse

Body:

Hi Everyone,

I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago due to fibroids and painful periods.
Lately I've been feeling a lot of pelvic pressure and the need to urinate quite frequently. I went to my Dr and was informed I have stage 2 bladder prolapse. What can I do to reverse this? I'm reading all these posts about posture and mine isn't great at all. My spinal curvature is a bit more pronounced than others which cause my upper back to slouch. Needless to say my back bothers me a lot especially my lower back.
I've also noticed I've lost the toned abs I once had before the hysterectomy, what exercises can I do to tone up this flabby belly and what can I do to start reversing the bladder prolapse?

Please help

Hi rwhite and welcome,
Have you had a chance to do some reading about whole woman posture? Even women that have had hysterectomies can benefit from this work. With the posture restoring as much lumber curvature that you can , and moving your remaining organs(bladder) into the lower belly can really help in managing your prolapse.
This work isn't about the traditional exercises that create tight abs, but about a relaxed belly with a strongly held up chest creating the more natural form we were always meant to have.
Check out the tool bar above, and do some reading and watching videos to get an idea about what this work is all about. Christine Kent has created a very comprehensive program that has helped so many of us manage and live with our prolapses very successfully!

Hello Everyone,
I am looking for some advice as to which of Christine's products to purchase. I was diagnosed with a slight prolapse after the birth of my third child nine years ago. I am now 44. I am still not sure what type of prolapse I have. I am thinking that its the rectal one, sorry the correct term escapes me.
So since the birth of my third child I have been exercising regularly running and doing other high impact exercises which I now know are very bad for us who have prolapse. I thought I was doing the right thing losing the baby weight and strengthening my core and throwing a few Kegels in there too.
But over this time I have noticed slow changes in my body and a definite shift in my organs. I have started to experience pain in the lower abdomen and air in the vagina if that makes sense. I first became aware of this more towards the end of last year. I was unwell and stopped all heavy exercises; running, skipping and boxing for about three months when I restarted I became scared I was doing damage because of the signals me body was giving me.
I had a lot of pain after exercising one evening, this prompted me go to a doctor and she recommend an ultra sound which showed nothing sinister.
So I then went to a physiotherapist who specialises in bladder and pelvic floor. I have had a little improvement since seeing her. She also believes in posture and diaphragmatic breathing. The more I did the pelvic floor Kegels I did I was often very tender in the lower abdomen.
I was doing exercises she recommended but sometimes I am too tender to do all of them.
I went to an O/G I found the experience very disenchanting. I still don't know what exact prolapse I have and was told don't run. If you have any more bad pain come back.
So some advice as to what people would recommend from Christine's products I would be grateful. I need to be budget savvy as I am supporting our family while my husband regains his health and is able to work again. Thanks in anticipation.

Hello skippy and welcome,
You are correct in listening to your body as symptoms arise. The best thing to do is get a good understanding of what prolapse really is and of course what kind you have. Going to the tool bar above and start reading all the information this site has to offer would be the first step.
PTs and doctors have a different concept of how our pelvic organs are held in our bodies. They think we have a pelvic floor, a basket, that our organs sit in ready to escape at any moment. In actuality our organs are held in our lower bellies up over the pubic bone. The whole woman posture is what keeps them there, and no amount of kegels is going to help with that.
As far as what products to use? All of Christine's work is what helps with prolapse. The book Saving the Whole Woman is a very comprehensive body of work that explains all things prolapse. The DVDs are so wonderful in strengthening the body into whole woman posture. And, yes, she even runs! You can do just about anything, as long as you aren't pulling your belly in, and are in perfect posture.
So, my suggestion is to do a lot of reading first, and then go over to the whole woman store, and look for products that would suit you best.
I have been doing this for almost 2 years, and I wouldn't ever go back or change anything. Christine has helped so many of us get our lives back.

Thanks for the advice. I will keep reading, I am glad to have found this site :)
