Some advice and help needed!

Body:

Hi there

I am a 27 year old female who has no children and I think I have a rectocele prolapse. I noticed a heavy sensation when I was going to the toilet yesterday and when I checked I felt a hard ball like lump in my vagina towards the back. When I pushed tis it made it easier for me to have a bowel movement as it felt blocked before. I often feel like I haven't finished when going to the toilet but this is the first time I've noticed this and I'm really scared.
I don't know what to do or how this will affect me having children or a normal life. I haven't told anyone and I can't stop crying about it.
This morning I had a bowel movement and it was just the same, I managed to pass some but had to help myself to finish. There is no pain or anything so I don't know whether it's worth going to the doctors about because I don't know whether there is much they can do.
Please help me

I hope you've calmed a little, in case not remember to BREATHE! As you have a chance to look around the site you'll learn that "baby breathing" (your belly pushing gently out on the inhale and flattening some on the exhale) is one of the keys to allowing your organs to be properly held. That combined with living in Whole Woman posture and being supported here on the forum has worked wonders for me and I continue to improve every day.

That said, with respect to seeing a doctor, no medical advice is given here. Only you can decide whether you need to see one.

All the best rememberme2707 as you figure out your next steps,

I would like to comment because your experience is like mine having a BM. I have three issues I am dealing with a cystocele a rectocele and a uterine prolapse. Whenever I have a BM the same thing happens to me, as for me it is my uterus and I just push it back up afterwards. I have to keep my stool soft so I don't get constipated and don't strain. Look up LoPo in the search bar and it describes a position to evacuate in that has been a lifesaver to me, and as far as I have read lots and lots of others too! That ball in my vagina scared the dickens out of me but I learned it's not a life threatening issue needing corrective surgery since coming here. Have it checked out to rule out anything else by all means, but if it's what I have, then relax, all will be ok. Learn all you can from WW and you can live a normal life. As far as having kids and pregnancy you will have to ask around as we are done with babies these days. I hope this helps

I am new to the world of prolapse and was very scared at first but you have come to the right place! I was never diagnosed properly for prolapse after being examined 3 times. Try leaning forward onto your thighs with your bum slightly up when you go. Also search "Lopo" on the forum for more info on toileting positions. This really made a difference for me and many members.

Hi rememberme - even though you are young and haven't had kids, you can certainly have a rectocele if there is a history of constipation/straining, heavy "core" exercising with abs work, lots of sucking in the belly. All of these things are quite common and can trigger prolapse at any age. This will have no affect on your ability to have a normal life or kids!

Getting it checked out might help put your mind at ease. Rectocele usually manifests as a squishy bulge, though it may feel more hard to some. But your bowel symptoms are certainly consistent.

Take a look around the site and get an idea for how prolapse is best managed with postural changes and natural measures. It can be very upsetting at first, but when you learn to belly-breathe and restore your natural spinal shape, your pelvic organs can start to settle into their natural positions a bit better. When the organs are better aligned, these bathroom problems improve hugely. Good luck! - Surviving

its Ok to be scared, but you will be fine. You will find all the information and tools to help you take on this challenge. I feel so bad, I can hear how frightened you are, helping yourself to have the bowel movement was clever, when I first discovered my rectocele, I never thought to do that, lol, I just totally freaked out, called the doctor and went in scared as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs!
Sadly the doctor was no help, then I found this forum, I read and read and read some more, I learned the posture was THE MOST important thing, the videos helped coach me even more. You are so young, I feel bad that you have to face this at this young age but please know you are not alone, there are many young women on here sharing their struggles and victories, yes I said victories because in no time you will be among those of us who have found Whole Woman program can turn our lives around, a healthy diet will make the stool soft and the posture will help make it easier to go, ( the lopo ) . You will have to tell your doctor about your problem but quite honestly the answer is up to you now, you will help yourself with Whole Woman posture exercises, diet info, it works all together, just like a puzzle, the pieces all fit together,,,
you will be fine, honest,, its going to be OK.

Hi, it's me again. I would like to add something I didn't think of until now. When I can't finish, I have that full feeling, and pressure like I need to go, my uterus does not pop down until I have finished. Just incase you run into that. Other women do different things to help fight constipation, which is very important to help complete bowl movements when the urge arises. As for me I take a stool softener and I have a nutri bullet. With that I make a shake now of two apples, red grapes, some banana, some avacado, blueberries, sometimes raspberries and goji berries. I used to make a different type of shake before but now concentrate on foods that help bowel movements. I cut back on cheese as that tends to constipate, refined sugars I am slowly cutting out, and really making a lifestyle change. Diet IS important and dovetails the WW approach. I ordered a few things from here and have a consult for future reference with Christine. Do check out LoPo, in conjunction with everything else it does work!! I do not have to 'help' myself poo. ( called splinting ) and check out other posts with the words constipation, rectocele, and any other symptom you can think of, and see what others have done too! That search bar has found me all kinds of hints and help. That IS why we post after all, so it can be of help to others, and support when needed. I am still in the beginning stages of WW posture, exercises and application, so I do not think I should offer advice yet in that arena, but there are plenty of people here who have it down and can come alongside you if you have questions. I'm still struggling with fire breathing myself. Good luck, you really have found a good place to be.

I first found my rectocele exactly as you describe after I went poo. I freaked out and went to the doctor instead of the BBQ I was meant to attend. I had other symptoms for several years prior I just didn't know what they meant.

As everyone has said you are in the right place to help you.

Best of luck.

I too struggled with firebreathing at first. Years of suck-and-tuck posture reverses natural breathing, makes us chest breathers. So belly-breathing needs to be learned, and firebreathing is just the extreme version of the normal belly-breathing that is essential to this work. So keep practicing! I found I learned better on hands and knees because I didn't have to simultaneously hold a body position that required some thought. Eventually I could do it just fine in different positions. - Surviving

Thanks Surviving! I will try it that way, it sounds like it may be just what I need to help me along!

I have also been struggling with firebreating and last night I got it right and then I read what you said S60 and that is exactly what happened to me. I was on my hands and knees and really focused on my breathing and let that do the work. I'm still using baby steps so not doing much yet and am very slow with it but your description was exactly what I did when it finally worked for me. It seems I just couldn't coordinate and grasp that info and translate it to my body earlier in my WW journey.
