9 days PP

Body:

I am 9 days PP and I have a cystocele/rectocele. I am 33 and feeling kind of depressed about it all. I have felt a bit more encouraged since finding this site, and I'm hoping the WW posture and exercises will help. I have just started working on them. I have a couple questions. 1. How many times a day should I do the new kegels exercises? 2. I notice that after being on my feet for awhile I can feel a bulge more than when I have been lying down or sitting. I go back to work in 11 weeks, I'm an RN and will be on my feet a lot. Will things improve a bit by then? I know it can take months and even years to really be more normal again, just hoping I won't be too uncomfortable at work. 3. I did watch the Youtube clip of the WW posture and exercises, is it enough to do those everyday? Or should I order the DVD? Any good advice or words of encouragement? Thanks.

Hi lizziejo and welcome,
Nine days postpartum is still pretty early. You still have awhile of natural healing that needs to take place, up to two years actually, but along with the posture work, you will be able keep moving in the right direction of becoming less symptomatic over time. It will take as long as it takes though, because this is a very individual process for each of us, but a journey well worth taking once you start feeling the benefits.
How much of any of the exercises is really subjective. It all depends on how you feel; just don't overdo and hurt yourself. And, remember that the posture is the end result here.
Very common to be less symptomatic after lying down for a bit which is actually recomended from time to time when the bulginess gets to be too much. Also getting down on knees and forearms with butt in the air breathing deeply into your lower belly feels good.
The work situation will be what it is until you get stronger in posture. Rest when you can, and if you can sneak off for some jiggling and firebreathing, do it. I know not always possible in a busy environment. Do the best you can.
Best wishes to you.

p.s. Ordering the materials is really your best bet. The videos give a good overview, but Christine's work is best understood by reading and watching the more indepth information. Well worth it, in my opinion.

Hi everyone, I am interested in the New Kegels, I've been cleared by my doctor so I can do excercises again after my Heart Surgery last year in March, one of the instructors that teach us seniors at our exercise class told me about the new Kegel she learned about on the Whole Woman Forum, she too has a Prolaspe, and she was very excited about teaching me how to do it.
Since I couldn't do anything strenuous my Prolaspe has gotten very bad it always hangs out and because it does that it gets very dry and I have a lot of bleeding if I don't use coconut oil on it, I use the oil after I use the bathroom no matter what, I find that it does help with the dryness and the bleeding the coconut oil does stop the bleeding.
So if you please I need to know about the New Kegels.

Aloha, and Mahalo

Heavenlyflower,
After reading over your posts of the last three years, I see you have purchased one of the bundles from the Whole Woman store. If you have the First Aid for prolapse, Christine does show how to do the new Kegels as part of the exercise routine, along with all the other many beneficial movements that can help us along with this work.

I just want to add though that this is not about exercises, but all about posture. You may want to revisit the materials you purchased, so you can reacquaint yourself with Christines's work.

I know we have discussed these things before, so you may want to track your own history for the many very good responses you received, just to get caught back up with everything and move forward in a positive direction.
