When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Rectocele & Cystocele,again
Hello: I have not written here for a while but still suffering. I am seeing a specialists for years now. However, I wonder if anyone else has this terrible discomfort. At least twice a week I have a burning, itching and soarness in my anal area.
I have to bathe with salt water etc. etc. It seems to me that the faeces that evacuates burns. My gastroenterologist does not help either. So awful at times I cannot go out. Tangogirl.

I know this is way out there, but does anyone think the honey would help in this situation? Restoring the natural lactobacilli in the area?

Hi Tangogirl,
I’m glad the sea salt gives some relief, which would be expected if this is bacterial. Your symptoms certainly suggest that it may be. Gram negative bacteria and fungal species predominate in rectal bacterial communities, which would be healthier if instead were populated by lactobacilli.
I would use the honey twice a day vaginally (a little bit placed high on the vaginal walls early morning and before bed). During our reproductive years, the vagina is the “engine” of steady, healthy microbial communities, which extend to the walls of the bladder. I have not read anything yet about vaginal species populating the rectum, which they no doubt do in our cycling years (we have all been programmed to believe just the opposite). As much as we might not want to think about it, these microorganisms traverse the perineum to keep us healthy and symptom free.
In children and older women, populations have to come from the gut. This is why fermented foods in the diet are so important. However, it is what I am calling a deeply “indigenous” process. By this I mean that the organisms themselves must come from our own environment to persist in bodily lumens (bladder, vagina, bowel).
A spritz bottle filled with 1/2 filtered water and 1/2 vinegar may also be very helpful. If we could choose from all the medicines on earth, honey, vinegar and salt are the very best for these conditions. I am saving my teeth with a similar program. Not so much honey, although I eat honey 3-4 times a week, but swishing with warm salt water every other day or so keeps my gums healthy. Apple cider vinegar is good for this as well. I probably don’t have to mention the connection between mouth health and anal health.
What is so amazing is that you can set out almost anything to ferment for a few hours or a few days. We live in a sea of friendly microorganisms! Right now I have another batch of local raspberries fermenting in organic red wine vinegar. In three days time the vinegar will be filled with lactobacilli native to my own environment. A splash over lightly steamed spinach with slivered almonds is not only heavenly, but extremely helpful in populating the gut with beneficial bacteria.
You don’t have go to the trouble to make sauerkraut, even nuts and seeds can be soaked overnight, drained, buzzed in a blender with water to a batter consistency, placed in a clean bowl to ferment overnight, and then tied up in cheesecloth to drain.
