Prolapse and bleeding...

Body:

Help please! Can anyone tell me if they have had bleeding with a stage 3 bladder prolapse? I have noticed blood on my panties several times, and when I used the toilet once. This concerns me, as I am post menopause. I do not use Western medical doctors, and have never had surgery, yet I am thinking about seeing a gynecologist to find out why I am bleeding. Any comments will be much appreciated...

Hi Ecae - We aren't doctors here, but to my knowledge, the only kind of bleeding you would get from a bladder prolapse would be irritation from the vaginal tissue rubbing against clothing. That tissue can be more dry and sensitive after menopause so you might try to culture it with some raw honey as we discuss so often here. Do you use any lubrication now?

If that's where you are bleeding from, you would probably be able to see that for yourself with a mirror. The best solution for that is to utilize Whole Woman posture and tools to get that bladder away from the opening. If you haven't started this important work, I hope you'll take a look around the site, forum and blog.

I'm with you when it comes to doctors, but any unexplained bleeding should be checked out. - Surviving

Hi Ecae,
The 2 previous messages sound good. Personally, if it's not completely obvious that the bleeding is coming from chaffing or for some other reason, I would check it out with a doctor, just in case it's something more serious.
In any case, the WW work is always relevant and helpful.

If you have read anything that Christine has written about honey on here, you will find that it is about more than just a preference thing when it comes to vaginal dryness. The honey actually feeds the natural bacteria in the vagina creating the proper balance and environment our vaginas need.
When it comes to a little barrier cream, use what works for you, but none of it compares to honey for healing. My own mom actually started using the honey quite awhile ago and has no complaints.

The best thing you can do for a prolapse that is sticking out is the whole woman work to try to get it to stay inside most of the time. I have a prolapse that likes to stick out also, and this work has helped me the most.

I recently experienced finding blood smears on my underwear and got concerned due to my prolapse. I recently had a uterine ultrasound which showed I have a polyp inside so a biopsy was taken there and also from a red spot on the vulva area, both very painful tests but results were negative. I've been working the WW program 4 yrs and know my limits.

Lacelyn,
Sorry for your troubles. Can you tell us what you have been doing as far as the whole woman work is concerned? There may be something you are missing and a consult with Christine may be the next step for you. She may have some answers and solutions for you that we on the forum aren't able to give you.
I also have a severe prolapse, and I know I always will, but I have been able to manage mine quite successfully with this work, as have many others. It may be that you are missing some aspect that Christine can give you personally.
Best wishes to you.

In the meantime, here is a post from Christine talking about polyps:

https://www.wholewoman.com/forum/node/2693

If you type polyp in the search box, you will come up with a ton of threads on the subject.

I googled this drug and I see that its main purpose is to make the post-menopausal vaginal tissues more comfortable. And yes, the warnings are scary. I am wondering if you have tried the raw honey treatments that we talk about so often on here? - Surviving

Will the raw honey strengthen the pelvic floor muscles too ?

Hi Laceylin,
You keep mentioning pelvic floor muscles, but say you have been doing the whole woman work for 5 years? I think maybe some review of your whole woman materials is in order, because whole woman posture is what keeps our organs safely into the lower belly. They are not supported by a pelvic floor.

The honey helps keep the the vagina healthy and has great healing properties to it. All you need is a small dab on the tip of your finger inserted vaginally once or twice a day.

Did you get a chance to read up on polyps on here? Lots of great information on that and vaginal dryness.

Hi Aging gracefully, I am just starting out and want to know would the dvd be my best buy to start with. Thanks.

I'm limited as to what I can do having degenerative disk disease in my neck and lower back and age 71. I try to keep up with the dragon breathing, and the postures. Posture is everything with this program and I always have to be aware of that fact.

Laceylin, there are no drugs for prolapse. The estrogen (and in this case non-estrogen) substances that doctors prescribe work by altering the vaginal tissue at the cellular level (I got that phrase straight off the Osphena website!). The only claim I see on their site is to make post-menopausal sex less painful. Is this worth the risks, when there are other natural things we can do for ourselves? Doctors get lots of goodies from the pharmaceutical companies, you know. - Surviving

A heartfelt thank you to all who have commented on my question. I am learning much from this forum. The feeling of having a support system in place is wonderful!

Thank you all for your comments and information of which I researched everything that would help me. I was doing good I thought until last Oct when I found blood smears & went thru ultrasound & 2 very painful tests, both neg. for endometriosis and polyps. I'm following the First Aid Prolapse for Elders exercises as I have been for the past 4 yrs, since then I've dropped more. I'm allergic to any form of estrogens. I just want to be able to walk without feeling bulges between my legs. I never had any incontinence problems. I have to take it slow at age 71 with degenerative disk disease in my neck and lower back. I'm always thinking posture is everything. Thanks for the information here.

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. I'm concerned about the drugs you are taking because it sounds like you have already had a rather scary reaction. I've said what I wanted to say about this drug in my previous post.....estrogen and estrogen-like compounds can make the vaginal tissues feel better by altering and thickening them, but are they worth the risks? Have you tried the honey yet? You may think this is too simple of a solution to work as an alternative to drugs; but Christine's research and the experiences of Christine and many others on this site prove otherwise!

I know that you are doing what you feel is right for your own body right now. But for the benefit of others who are new and may be misled by your post, I do need to point out that PT/pelvic floor exercises in the traditional sense of the word (TENS, kegels) do not address prolapse and can actually aggravate it. It might be beneficial for you to look a little more deeply into all the aspects of the Whole Woman work. It can be very empowering but demands an understanding of the true anatomy of prolapse, which, sad to say, you will not get from your PT or your doctors. - Surviving

PS - My comments in this post were in response to several measures Laceylin discussed in her previous post. She has removed these references.

Laceylin,
Editing all your posts in this thread isn't going to help you with your problems. Please don't be embarrassed about what you put on here; it's valuable information to help us better understand what you are going through, how we can better help you, and where you can go from here.

Have you considered a consult with Christine? Many of our ladies get so much insight about her work after they have been able to get some clarity from her. It is her work, no one knows it better than she does.

Best wishes to you.

I'm sorry I didn't want to mislead any new ones. I'm allergic to any form of estrogen. Honey was too messy. I'm on a fixed income and have Christines program, book, DVD and baton of which I'm doing what I am able. I'm on fixed income so can't consult. I know my limitations of my body and taking it a day at a time.

I feel like I got ambushed by Surviving 60. and Aging Gracefully therefore I deleted some of my links, not to mislead anyone with information. I know there are no drugs for prolapse. I've got more going on with pelvic floor problems than just prolapse.

Hi Laceylin,
It's not wrong that you tell us what you have been trying to do, going to the doctor, physical therapy, etc., but we do have to let other readers know that these other methods haven't been proven to work, and that so far Christine's work has been the only method that helps with prolapse. And, that this site is about the whole woman work first and foremost.

The honey really isn't messy. All you have to do is put the tiniest amount on your fingertip and insert it vaginally. My mom is 73 and she has been using it for quite some time now, after having been using the estrogen creams. She is so much happier with the honey.

We can try to take this step by step with you, and try to figure out a solution that can help you be more successful with this work. First of all, I think the tens and the physical therapy that you mentioned in your post are just working against any whole woman efforts. It would be better to start working on posture, relaxed belly, lifting your chest up, with chin slightly tucked. Please tell us what your take is on posture, what you think it is. I am not trying to be insulting here, because it does take time to get this down, and some of us need a little extra help in this area.

I am sorry you feel ambushed, Laceylin. And since you have erased all the relevant subject matter from your posts, there is not much else to be done here. But I do have a suggestion - if you want to discuss the various therapies and the drugs that you have been using, go to "Create Content" over on the side of the page, and start your own topic. You are pursuing a number of treatments that we felt would aggravate your prolapse or jeopardize your health. And we will continue to make those points from a Whole Woman perspective, because this is the Whole Woman forum. I know you've been doing some of the exercises for a few years, but it seems like your overall understanding of the concepts was not sufficient for any real progress, or perhaps you would be seeing some by now. Keep reading and studying the work. - Surviving

A few years ago I discovered a prolapse and felt lucky indeed to find Whole Woman.
I followed the posture and exercise directions. Everything got a little better and I gradually stopped paying attention to this website and Christine's books, video etc.
Recently I started bleeding and it was scary. My doctor said to have surgery that day. She made an appointment for me for surgery.
Then I came to my senses and got out Saving the Whole Woman, called for a consultation with Christine and also called a practitioner, Carol Bilek. Carol called me back right away and gave me such hope.
She told me to get back into the posture and other work and that honey would stop the bleeding.
I have done this for 24 hours and the bleeding is much, much better and my prolapse feels better, too.
I plan on never getting complacent again.

Hi Sugarless and thanks for your post. I hope things are getting better and better for you. Unexplained bleeding is always a concern, but it is never a reason for sudden surgery! What explanation did your doctor have, and what surgery was she pushing?

I totally understand complacency. When I first discovered WW, now going on 7 years, I remember feeling right away that things were going to be OK. I ordered Christine's book, and read it cover to cover more than once. But I was doing more studying than actually DOING. There was a hesitation in actually getting started....and then life intervened with a medical emergency that resulted in relocating my elderly mother and taking over her care. My prolapse went farther and farther onto the back burner, until one day, it worsened with the same apparent suddenness I'd experienced upon first discovery the previous year. I knew it was time to get serious, and I did.

So keep working on it, and let us know how you're feeling. - Surviving
