When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

Hi Guineas and welcome to
Hi Guineas and welcome to Whole Woman. We can't diagnose you, but from what you have written (which I have read over quite carefully), it sounds just like an ordinary rectocele to me. If you are planning to consult with a surgeon on this, I warn you that she will most likely point you in the direction of surgery (no surprise there). And I would suppose that having found our Forum, you have now spent some time looking around the Whole Woman site, and realized that our goal is to keep woman off the operating table and away from these procedures that are so dangerous. There is no cure for prolapse, surgical or otherwise, but altering the natural dynamics of pelvic organ support surgically will virtually always make things worse.....if not next month, then further into the future. Can you tell us your age and whether or not you still have your uterus? Meanwhile, please take a few minutes and watch this:

Hi,
Thanks very much for replying. I am 51 and have been post menopause now since 2011 I started per menopause at 44. Yes, I wouldn't want surgery, I agree on that point. I have read a lot of threads on here before joining. I had never heard of the word Rectocele before I started googling bulge down in that region and it came up with the word. So is it normal to not feel it laying down, I can't feel it that way but soon as I am upright it's there. I don't have any pain though. I have read to keep diet good so poos aren't constipated which I am trying to do. It's when I visit my daughter and travel to her I have a bladder urge and so if I drink I need wees on the motorway so I think that's when I have got constipated. I suppose I would of been happy if the GP had just felt it whilst I was stood up and reassured me what it was but she didn't.

Hi Guineas,
Hi Guineas,
Yes, it is perfectly normal not to feel our celes when we are lying down, because it is when we are up and moving around that the intrabdominal pressure is there. And, your doctor may or may not see or feel your rectocele at any given point, especially if you are lying on your back for an examination.
But, what is important right now is getting started with the whole woman work. Once you do some serious reading about Christine's work and start applying it, you will start to realize that you can take control of your body and will start feeling a whole lot better.
Go to the tool bar above and start reading about this very important life changing work.

Hi,
I thought I would update you. I saw the Specialist on Monday and she gave me a thorough examination and long chat about my bowel movements and urges which a lot of the time are just wind when I try to go to the loo. She confirmed I have a Rectocele so was annoyed that my GP hadn't said I had when I asked her direct do I have one. She pressed in the Rectocele and asked me what it felt like and I said like I need the loo. She wants to do a camera I aren't sure why I asked there isn't anything wrong is there but she said as my grandma died of colon cancer she said I would so much. I am very nervous about this that would be on the NHS though in about five weeks as she said there was no urgency for it. Would an occult blood test be better in your poo? Then if there is no occult blood do that, I forgot to ask her this. As usual I forgot an important question. I thought of going back to my GP not the one who examined me a man at the surgery who I have got to know better being his patient. My skin tag that I asked the GP about who didn't even reply when I asked about it the specialist said it is an old hemorrhoid and not to worry. X

This seems like an awful lot of stuff to go through for what appears to be an ordinary rectocele. I agree you should ask her if the occult blood test might be better to start with - less invasive and can probably rule out the cancer worries. If you reach the point where everyone agrees you have nothing more than a rectocele going on there, I urge you take this problem out of your doctors' hands, because they will probably point you in the direction of "repair" surgeries, which are risky and will destroy your body's ability to manage your prolapse in a natural and safe way. - Surviving

Yeah I agree Surviving. It atm causes no pain to me it is just annoying and I know people are a lot worse, I will make an appointment to see the male GP about the occult test and discuss doing the camera as it is a horrid thing to go through like you say. I'm leaving making appointment for a few weeks after my Mam dying and my daughter moving three hours away I need some fun and focus sing too much on this isn't fun X

Colonoscopy
Hi everyone,
I had my colonoscopy done yesterday and I'm very proud I went through with it, one reason was my grandma died of colon cancer and my mam did in February, he took biopsies but said I had no polyps and that everything looked OK. He was wonderful far nicer than my GP at the local surgery. He said I will see the colon lady with results in five weeks and to discuss anything about the Rectocele with her he said he and her don't advocate surgery there are other things they can do. I'm pleased to be seeing the lady as her speciality is women's prolapses he said they are very common as well. I didn't even know about these things at all and who knows maybe I had it for a while but didn't realise. I ride my bike a lot I have high cholesterol and so giving up cycling isn't an option and to be honest my seat is a very comfy one and my handlebars are at a good position I feel comfiest on my bike than anywhere else, I've stopped getting out of the saddle though and use the gears more. I can't give up cycling as it is a means of de stressing. I don't quite understand the W W posture and can't find it on the website, could someone explain to me I do have a slumped posture though and always have. I do worry about the Rectocele getting worse but tend to drink more now so I don't get constipated, I don't think I drank enough. Sorry for rambling, I keep googling cycling and worry I'm doing the wrong thing, I hate anxiety I seem to get more as I get older, oh to be young again I never worried like now,

Hi Guineas,
Hi Guineas,
Cycling is fine with prolapse once you have mastered the whole woman posture, but My first year on the bike while doing the whole woman work didn't help or hinder my prolapse while on it. It was into my second year that I really started noticing a difference. So ride your bike, but relax that belly and lift up your chest.
The best way to learn posture is through Christine's work which you can find in the whole woman store. If money is tight, you can always start with her basic course here:

Christine's work is eye opening and you will be amazed what you learn about yourself. Taking control of our own bodies is so liberating.
Best wishes.

Cystocel after hysterectomy
i had a total hysterectomy 3 months ago due to a uterine prolapse....protruding outside the vagina. I recovered nicely but have since been diagnosed with a cystocel....My gynecologist told me to do kegel exercises....which I had been doing since surgery. I'm so glad I found this site as I would like to do anything to avoid further surgery. I am 62 years old and am hoping to hopefully improve the situation with exercise or at least keep it from progressing. Thanks for any feedback you can give me.

Hi Cjbf14 and welcome,
Hi Cjbf14 and welcome,
You have definitely come to us at a good time, because Christine is coming out with a new post hyst video series very soon that will be most helpful for the ladies who have had these surgeries.
Christine's work has helped so many of us get our lives back, and now the post hyst ladies can be included in this work as well.
You can also do some reading on this site starting at the tool bar above to better familiarize yourself with the concepts that whole woman is based on, the whole woman posture, which you will learn as you study this eye opening work.
best wishes to you.
