vaginal bleeding

Body:

Hello, I had a episode of vaginal bleeding back in December of 2016. I have been diagnosed with atrophic vaginal and my doctor said it was coming from that. Tests were done and everything came back normal.
This morning I had another incident of bleeding, bright red blood. It was on my underwear, came through my gown and housecoat. It wasn't a lot, but a lot on the tissue and then it stopped. And that is the way it did last time. I get so upset about this, I am 68 years old, have vaginal prolapse really bad and I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this happen. I am going to check with my doctor tomorrow, but until then, I hope someone else may be able to help me feel better. Many thanks.

Hi Blessedmom - I see that you have posted several times in the past about your bleeding......as this is not a medical site, we can only suggest you check with your doctor, which I think you have already done. Have you had any type of surgery? Has your doctor suggested any cause or treatment? Atrophy of the vaginal tissues is quite normal after menopause and is best treated with a dab of raw local honey placed high in the vagina once or twice a day. You have probably read about this lots of times if you follow the forum at all. Very effective at providing comfort for the irritated tissues. - Surviving

Surviving, I am aware that I have posted several times about this problem, but I thought this was what this site was about. I am under doctor care, but it helps to hear stories about other women who may be dealing with this same problem. I have no one to talk to, no one to give any words of comfort. I am not asking for medical advice, I know this site is not a medical site, I only hoped to hear from other women with the same problem, as it is very scary. I have some of Christine's videos and I practice her advice. Are you not allowed to post more than once on here? If so, I will not post again, but I want Christine to know that I am trying her techniques and was so blessed to have found her site. I hope she reads this and knows. Thank you Christine.

Hi Blessedmom2016,
I guess the question really is what proactive measures have you taken to help alleviate your symptoms since first finding them? You did go to the doctor and he is suggesting it is from the atrophy, not any other underlying condition, so what's next?
Have you tried the honey that Christine talks about? She discusses it extensively in her vaginal health videos, so these would be a great investment. You could also book a consult with Christine herself, as she may have more insight than what you will find here on the forum.
We wouldn't want you to keep waiting for answers and suffering when there are options out there for you to explore.
Best wishes to you.

You may certainly post as often as you like, but if you are hoping to hear from others in your situation, it might be helpful for you to share what you are doing, and what your doctor's care involves. For example, hormones are often prescribed, but these can be dangerous. Post-menopausal bleeding can be a complicated thing. I agree with AG about booking a consult with Christine. And do try the honey. I don't know if atrophy causes this kind of bleeding, but the honey is sure to help you feel more comfortable. - Surviving

Hi Blessedmom2016,
Just read your posting and wanted to share with you my experience with vaginal bleeding. It may not be the same case as yours but certainly is scary to me too!
I am 69 and have POP. My cervix sometimes drop down so bad that blood can be seen in the middle opening, when I wipe it will show up on the tissue, and sometimes on my underpants too. But it will go away when I do fire breathing and be on knees and hands on the floor to rest for a while. So as long as I can manage it and thanks to this site for all the information, I am not so scare anymore. Hope this helps.

Yes, your response has helped me so much and I thank you for sharing. It sounds very much like what I am experiencing. I had an endrometrial biopsy done in Dec. 0f 2016 and my GYN doctor wants to repeat this again April 4th along with a saline ultrasound, to be sure that it is nothing else. I am very scared of these tests and the bleeding does scare me also. I am hoping that you will get better and I will let you know about the tests. God bless you for responding. Thank you.
