Urethrocele pain

Hi Mallie - Yes this is a very common complaint in the months post-partum. I gather you have ditched the kegel routine, which probably had a part in prolonging and aggravating the situation. You talk of proper posture as defined by your PT, but I don't have the impression that you have looked into the WW work at this point....? We teach a return to natural posture where the belly is relaxed and the organs are held forward over the pubic bones. This pulls everything (including the urethra) into proper alignment and will allieviate these symptoms over time. PT's advocate a more "neutral" spine and pelvis which fails to reposition the organs in any meaningful way. You will also want to adopt our toileting practices and make extra sure that you are emptying completely. - Surviving

Hi Surviving, thanks for the reply! Yes, my PT advocated a more neutral spine. I've been working on relaxing my belly and breathing with my diaphragm. I'm always tense so it's a constant reminder to relax and breathe deeply. I actually have to remind myself within a span of mere minutes to let the belly relax, it's going to take some time before this comes second nature to me. It does feel so much better when I'm moving around this way, almost as if a pressure has been release? Hard to explain but it feels so much better. I did feel this same way in my early postpartum days which I understood would improve with time-and it did. Now that I'm over a year PP and this is all back again has me so nervous that everything has reversed and/or gotten worse. I am expecting aunt flow and I'm hoping this bout of dryness/irritation is due to that, but this all occurred a week prior to her arrival so perhaps its not correlated at all. :o(
All the best!
