need advice

Body:

Hi ladies,
I have been diagnosed with a grade 2 cysotcele which is driving me crazy. The rest is minor so I think it's ok. I have seen a gyn, urologist and urogyno all in the last month and am more confused.
I really dont want surgery. So today I decided to change my posture.
Boy did I feel better all day. Tell me something encouraging I need to know to feel better without surgery.
Patty

tell you something encouraging - just read your own post!

"So today I decided to change my posture.
Boy did I feel better all day. "

that's what this is all about. you have the tools within you to help stabilize this condition, and possibly reverse it somewhat. the posture is definitely the place to begin. lots of us here have seen real positive changes -without surgery- from this work.

there are lots of things you can do to help yourself, from posture to diet and specific exercises designed for this, and that is nothing short of empowering.

Thank you for the encouraging words. I have been very depressed and confused for a while now. I am not sure what I am supposed to be doing differently with my posture. But I do know that today was a good day and I definetly changed my posture. Tell me anything else I can do to help my condition. Im open for any suggestions.
Patty

I have to agree with what granolamom said. You've figured out the posture was a huge help. The best thing you can do for yourself is take the time to read all the posts here and that may take days! But, do it. Most of your questions will be answered and you will realize you are empowering yourself to take control and responsibilty for your own body. Right now, that's the first thing. Be sure to read all the FAQ's on the Home page, implement the posture daily, and order Christine's new book. There is no way you can go wrong by doing this.

We are here to help, so ask questions, vent and/or celebrate.

Blessings,
Grandma Joy

I get so much advice that my head spins. What do you think? Should I wait and not have surgery or procede with surgery. I really dont want surgery but I want to be fairly normal again. Like you havent heard that one before. I dont have the book and just stand differently and it feels alot better. But does that just mask the problem or actually help it or cure it. Please help me to understand.
Patty

Hi again Patty,

I think you should type "surgery" in the search field to the left of the page to read what everyone says about it. You have plenty of time to make the decision on having surgery and should really weigh what you read here against what the "protocol" is. Give the posture, the exercise and the diet at least six months trial instead of rushing in for surgery. Once surgery is done, there could be many problems manifest themselves - that you will not be informed of prior to surgery.

Give yourself a rest, slowly absorb the information here, and relax about the decision- you do have plenty of time.

Keep in touch.

Hugs,
Grandma Joy

The only way is uppppppppppppppp

And if this is how you feel after a short time - Imagine how much better it gets with time :)

I also had a grade 2 cele - I now have a grade 1 cele...

As for curing - No maybe it does not 100% cure it - But the surgery doesnt either and once you have surgery - You cannot just change posture and feel better as they have sewn this to that tied that to this and totally changed you internally so just changing posture will no move things that are tied up...

What I would say is - You are the only one who can choose your destiny in this thing we call Prolapse...

Even if posture only gave you 25days out of 30 that are good days - Wouldnt that be worth it - Then you are free for those days. And yeah maybe around period time you may feel different' down there - Kinda heavier - But even on the bad days I still feel better than I did when I got to this site...

Something encouraging is - There are many of us women here - We are all holding you up at this time when you wanna collapse and cry and fall apart - can you feel us? We are all here - We are all holding you in a hug that is something that only women can give - We are women we are strong. You are our sister and we do all we can to hold you up no matter how far down you may think you are falling. Call us - We are here - Close your eyes and feel us - We surround you with love and care and we are holding you on days when you feel despair...

(ok i hafta go out sorry bout that cannot finish my loving tirade cos I hafta go take her to playgroup arghhhhhh)

just want to add to what as already been said which is welcome and -- as granolamom already smartly pointed out -- re-read your own post for encouragement! you shifted your posture and that made you feel better WITHOUT SURGERY! how cool.

please remember that all these doctors are trained to "fix" things, even when the longterm prognosis isn't great. and if you read the copious amounts of research that is threaded through the site (or take a look at a site like hystersisters, for example, where you will read posts from women who have been through the repairs and are now struggling) you will be informed enough to make a decision that really feels right for you. i can tell you that, for me, surgery is simply not an option. and i can also tell you that, through this work, my rectocele has been downgraded from a 1.5 to a 1. ALL WITHOUT SURGERY. good good diet -- critical. working with posture -- essential. the women here are from all walks of life, all different ages and circumstances and we ARE DOING IT. i honestly believe you can too if you decide that's the path you want to try and experiment with.

glad you're here. look through the site. it's amazing what this work is doing. as grandma joy said, it's cutting edge. it really is.

So What should I do first. I havent ordered any book? What book should I order. And is that all I need. And does it talk about diet in the book? Guide me in a positive direction as I know you all can.
Thank you thank you for being here for me.
Patty

Christine has just released the pre publication edition of her new book which you can get from the whole woman store. Just go into the wholewoman center website. The regular book will be out I think in a couple of months.

There is a wealth of information in the book about diet, posture and almost everything you need to know about prolapse. It is really a complete life guide to living well with prolapse.

Hope this helps!

It is great that the posture is helping so many women. I might just say that my prolapse has improved over a period of 18 months or so to the point that I don't feel any symptoms at all, most of the time - and this is without using the posture - no, it's not because I don't believe in the posture, I most definitely do, I just haven't incorporated it into my daily life at this point in time. So isn't it interesting that a prolapse can improve (or regress being the clinical term) on it's own? I still do a few kegels (and I gather that is particularly good for urinary incontinence), get exercise (particularly walking) and watch I don't strain on the loo. All the things that everyone has been endorsing on this site. It certainly is a special place and I'm proud to be part of something that is questioning the medical profession's practices as regards this aspect of our lives.
