Nori Kai has arrived

Body:

Hi Dear Women,

My beautiful granddaughter arrived by gentle water birth at 6:35 am today. 7 lbs 11 ounces - she is absolutely perfect and beautiful and looks like a little Japanese doll.

I'm too tired and filled with emotion to write much now, but can tell you that the most valuable component to the health of women are wise and confident midwives. It was a LONG labor and two completely glorious midwives created the possibility for this little soul to enter the world peacefully, gently and fearlessly. And a first-time mother with a perfectly intact perineum. They told her afterwards it looks like she never gave birth.THIS is how it's supposed to work. Mommy, daddy, and baby are sleeping sweetly and grandmom is cooking and cleaning. Life is so beautiful...

God bless you all,

Christine

What joy! How wonderful for you all. My heart is full reading of the birth of your granddaughter. How blessed she is with you for her grandmother. The birth of your grandchild and the birth of your book, almost in the same breath. Blessings to all.

Thanks so much Anne and everyone for your dear thoughts and words. I didn’t get her birth story posted this weekend as promised – my daughter has the electronic version of the film photos I took, which will make putting the document together so much easier. She’s sending the discs to me today. I got a web cam yesterday and was able to see them last night! While I was in the computer store I chatted with a family with a new baby. Mom, dad and baby live here and grandma and grandpa were visiting from across the country. I commiserated with the grandma about how sad it is to live so far away from a new grandbaby and told the daughter she should live closer to her mother! It’s only right!! :-)

Sorry this took so long! Here's the link: Nikelle's Birth Story

Very lovely indeed. Thank you for sharing! x

Thank you so much for sharing and your daughter. Nora is adorable and I loved the story...wish I could go back to my Lily's birth 11-3-06 and jump in the pool too!

christine:

thank you for posting that and putting up those incredible pictures. your daughter looks truly radiant. and that baby...perfect.

i send wishes of hope for great health, joy, and happiness for the whole family, from the grandmother down to the granddaughter.

with much love,

The photos were just awesome Christine. Your daughter and her partner were incredible, how I wish I'd had such a massive (wonderful) birthing experience myself. It is so great to see how it should go. I had a lot of medical intervention with my first baby but less so with my second. But maybe it was me - might be one of those women who have difficulty in childbirth - my mum didn't have a great time either. However, enough of the doom and gloom. Just wonderful to have you share this with us. May the good times continue with you all.
