When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

Luckily none of us are in the 3rd world!
In answer somewhat to your question and i am by know means an expert in this area, while I understand your fears I think that you and all the rest of us have to take so much comfort in the fact that we are not unfortunate enough to be suffering form these conditions in the 3rd world. And please don't feel that I amd trying to belittle your concerns because I am really not and i have had similar thoughts to you myself, what ifs, how bad could it get etc. I think we must remember that even in it's worst scenario's we will always have choices and have some of the best health care and options for treatment available to us. I have heard of some terrible cases of this condition in women in developing countries and heard of one particularly harrowing story of an african child who had a totally prolapsed bladder at the age of 8 which was hanging from her body and covered with flies. I mean christ, can you imagine the sheer horror and misery of that poor little girl, it makes you weep! Imagine having what we have and having no resources or support available to help us deal with it. No supportive websites, no information, no help of any healthcare or any medical intervention other than, at best, some cock-eyed ill informed quack. It really doesn't bear thinking about. Basically what I am saying is that luckily for us, no matter how bad things get we will always have options. Sometimes just remembering that can be enough.
I don't know if that helps you or not but I know sometimes when i'm feeling particularly sorry for myself remembering that my reality could be so much worse can help. I hope you don't think I'm being sanctimonious.
with sympathy,

Not a terrible question
Annma,
Certainly yours is not a terrible question, but a perfectly normal one given your condition. I do not know how bad cystocele can get (and I hope I never find out!), but obviously what you are experiencing is very bad for you. It sounds like you are doing all the right things, and I encourage you to continue and to be patient with your body - the prolapse almost certainly didn't happen overnight, and it will take time and hard work to correct it (as much as that is possible). Given the severity of your prolapse and your level of discomfort, I would encourage you to try using a pessary. There are many different types, and it might take a lot of trial and error to find one that works. Anecdotally, it seems to me that it's a 50/50 deal as to whether you'll have success with a pessary, but certainly worth trying.
Wishing you the best,
J.

how bad can it get
Can anyone remember where I just (three weeks ago?) addressed the worst-case scenario question? Thx C.

yah I remember
The worst case scenario is a softball sized mass outside of the vagina when standing. Christine I think it was a private email to Susan where you described it and Susan posted it (howdidthishappen)
