Sponges, questions, etc.

Body:

Hi All,

So how exactly do sea sponges work? Is this something I should try? I have a prolapsed Uterus. My cervix is usually a finger tip maybe a bit higher from the VG opening. I do not think I have any of the other two cele's. No symptoms I am aware of... Would the sponge help? Or just push out? I can and still do use tampons if that makes a difference.

Also, is there any special care advice when having a period? I do feel "lower" during this time.

On a good note, my back pain is getting less and I can relax my tummy most of the time! I still all of a sudden realize that I'm holding it in though! Can't wait to feel "natural" in the posture. I do find I am starting to prefer it a little bit more.

I am having some difficulty coordinating myself with the fire breathing. Any tips? Can it be done on hands and knees?
Christine, one day maybe you could put some of these special exercises on video clips? Something that maybe those of us who have purchased a book could go to for that "visual"... Especially for those of us with two left feet!

One more question, do all of you continue to do things as normal? I am so worried about "lifting" things, especially my grandbabies. I am having a hard time knowing I have to ask for help to move my furniture, rake leaves and yard work, etc. Just what do you all allow yourselves to do and not do? How about going to fairs, amusement parks and stuff... I LOVE rollercoaters... are they now off limits?

ok enough for now....

As nobody else has replied yet, welcome to the Forum. I haven't used sponges, but have felt that posture, diet and a change in clothing have been the mainstay of my success. I've been doing this for nearly three years now, and don't notice my prolaspes often at all, except for before a period. I'm 54, so this will eventually stop (I hope!)

I can do almost anything, though I have ragged lumbar discs so they are my limiter. However, I find that as long as I maintain my lumbar curve when lifting, ie lean forward, butt in the air, I can lift what I like. I think the position means that I can't lift as heavy a weight as I used to (when more upright with a straight spine and butt tucked uynder) but my prolapse organs stay inside me when I lift, and that is what is important. I have found that I need to keep more weight on the front foot when raking and sweeping. This keeps my organs forward of my pubis and seems to lock everything in place. I feel like my obliques are doing more work too.

I wouldn't dream of avoiding rollercoasters. I love body surfing (ie without a body board) and sex and other ridiculous energetic activities. I use them as a workout, and just adjust my body position to ensure that everything feels firmly inside me as I work. If it doesn't, then I stop and find another way to do it (or just leave it undone!). You will soon work out what you can and can't do with your body. Trust yourself.

You're doing well if you can relax your lower abdominals. I am still working at that, after a lifetime of tucking my tummy in. Life is good!

Cheers

Louise

THANK YOU so much for replying....was beginning to feel like I asked or said something wrong. I've been using the search box and have found some answers, but just need some reasurrance for my particular situation I guess. Soooo happy to hear that you are doing great.. gives me so much more hope and optimism for my own future. Thank you thank you!
Drats though... periods still at 54? I'm 47, can set my watch to my periods they are so regular! I keep telling myself this is a good thing, haha.
We have a Disney world vacation planned in Dec. So again Thanks for the good news on the rollercoasters! I am hoping by then I will be pretty set in the posture. But was wondering if the sponges would help with all that walking and stuff. Hopefully someone using them will answer too. Money is tight, so have to pick and choose my options. Best money I've spent so far is on Christines book. Totally solidified my belief in NO SURGERY. Especially since I love sex too! I just can not fathom having to give up any of that part of my life.
I would not have been upset if you told me I could not rake leaves though! haha
Have a Great Day Louise... and Thanks
Linda

Hi again Jepala

I think my main message is that you can really do anything that doesn't give you that lump in the vulva feeling. Often just a subtle change in the way you do a particular task is all that is needed to enable you to do it safely. You will find after a while that your body awareness develops as you do things the Wholewoman way. You will still need to bring yourself back into posture but the reminder just grows at the front of your consciousness, so remembering is not so hard after a while. Also, we learn from positive experiences, and the decrease in discomfort is a great motivator.

If all goes well you will lose your fear of 'disappearing down your own plughole', and you will gain confidence again. Wholewoman techniques will not cure prolapse, but will teach you new ways of getting around it that do not compromise the design of your body, and that will help to minimise symptoms and prevent further damage.

As for raking leaves, I really don't understand it. They all break down into nothing and return to the earth if you leave them there. And they're such good fun for children!

Cheers
