Thank you to Christine

Body:

Thank you so much for this web site! 8 months ago when I first discovered this issue I was afraid to leave my house. I thought my active life was over for ever. I didn't even like to go grocery shopping and I couldn't walk my kids to the park about a mile away. Today I took my four younger ones on a field trip (I home school) where we had to climb up and down several flights of steep stairs. I was a bit nervous, but I doned my v2 suporter and eaded out LOL. I wore a 27 lb. baby on one hip in a sling and the kids backpack with water bottles and supplies on the other. It wasn't fun, but I did it and am no worse for the experience. Just wanted to share! :)

I share your experience, and say a big THANKS to Christine, too. I often wonder where I would have ended up if it weren't for her pioneering work. I've been on the forum 2 years, and let me tell you, I can do anything now and was afraid to go on a long walk after developing pop. My biggest fear was not being able to run around with my kids and they are still so young. But, I now run, play tag, play soccer, etc. etc. etc. Sure, sometimes I need to sit down, but who doesn't? Also, I found that it got better once the baby was out of the sling and walking. BTW, I also homeschool and have multiple kids. Its nice not to be worrying about it all the time like the early days.

Blessings, Marie

I'm sorry - what is BTW?

I think BTW means 'by the way.'

Where do you get a v2 supporter from? How many of you find them helpful?

Beejay

My hubby found it online. It was about $40-quite a bit to spend for us, but well worth it. At the time when he bought it I always felt "dangly" down there. With the supporter I could stand to do dishes, take walks, etc. and feel more normal. I wore it every day at first. I am not sure if it does anything helpful in the long run, but it helped me feel more normal and confident in the beginning and, even though I don't really need it much now, I still wear it when I know I am going to be lifting a lot or walking a long way. My midwife told me that one day I could lift something heavy and "everything could just fall out." Dwelling on that thought could give me fear-having the V2 on tends to help me forget the issue instead of dwelling on it.

Kind of like wearing it gives you a little holiday from having prolapses on your mind all the time? We all go a little better after a holiday. :-) And why not?

Cheers

Louise

Whether it really does anything or not, is worth its weight in gold. I too homeschool! But I only have one in her senior year of high school so I don't carry her around on my hip, lol! And lol means laugh out loud. :-))
