When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

what I think
I think you can most certainly let the pelvic floor muscles contract too. when I do it, that's what happens, they contract and pull up up up.
I hope that if this is incorrect someone will let us know, but truth is, that I have found the firebreathing very helpful even doing it that way

I do hope someone does post
I do hope someone does post to let us know....
I can do it both ways but find if I contract pelvic floor muscles as well it seems to have more affect....
Also a question? My lower stomach muscles are sore and I am sure it is from doing the firebreathing, just wondered if this has happened to anyone else...I have only been doing it for about a week...

stomach muscles & firebreathing
I didn't get sore, but after doing the firebreathing for a few weeks I did notice some definition in the abdominal muscles that I *know* I didn't have before.

firebreathing
Hi Frankie,
Well, Granolamom is right...the abdominal wall and pelvic diaphragm contract together, so if you are pulling up one you will be pulling up the other.
However, they can be controlled to contract more intensely in one place or the other. For instance, if you are strongly pulling up your pelvic diaphragm you can sort of relax your belly.
When I do firebreathing I get the most vacuum as I can out of the exercise. This means that although my pelvic diaphragm moves with the sucking in and up of my abd muscles, I don't purposely contract it. When I do I lose some of the power of the vacuum.
Yes...this is a powerful exercise and no doubt you would be sore at first. Hope you are seeing some results with it. :-)

Thanks Christine and Granolamom
for the advice. I will let the pelvic diaphragm contract if it happens, but continue to concentrate on creating the abdominal vacuum. I am seeing results already after only doing it for three weeks, and I am confident I will see more as I continue. I am currently progressing from 2 minutes to three minutes daily. I do the firebreathing exercise as soon as I wake up in the morning and sometimes have to do it with two my two lovely girls looking at me from all angles as they patiently wait for their breakfast!

Hello everyone, I have just
Hello everyone,
I have just got my book and this morning have been trying out the fire breathing. I have read and re-read the instructions and am not sure I understand this at all. I get when breathing through the nose and letting your belly fill up as my belly feels like it is just handing there but when I breath out and contract the muscles it feels like I am just tightening all the muscles in my belly and I can't feel the hollow, narrow, pulled up feeling. I just feel like I am tightening up all the muscles and it makes my abdomen sore like I have just done some sit ups - but I certainly cannot feel the pelvic floor lifting.
I have tried the vacuum thing I have seen mentioned on this forum many times and that I can definately feel! I actually feel everything inside my vagina pull upwards - its feels like I am trying to suck air up there!

not sure....
when your exhaling forcefully through your mouth, is your pelvis still or is it moving?
I find that when I inhale and let my belly fill up and hang there, my pelvis tips forward. upon exhale, my low back rounds out a bit and the pelvis tips back, not the way you'd normally want to hold it but thats what happens, and that's when I feel a pulling up.
I know that doesn't sound very clear. I keep trying to explain it better but can't find the words. will try to think about it
anyone else?
