taichi & exercise

Body:

I recently retired & attend tai chi classes, which I love. The breathing technique is proving very beneficial. Does anyone else practise tai chi,& do you find it helpful?
Iam 64, & can sit crosslegged to attempt the workout. I say attempt, because I have trouble getting my knees flat enough to move my body correctly. Obviously I have never done yoga! Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hi Shersoft, I don't do the proper Tai Chi form any more - I used to go to classes and I have various books/DVDs, but I do a little Tai Chi exercise routine every morning, adapted somewhat to suit my back condition, and haven't had any prolapse problems with it, provided I pay attention to posture. I really love it and find it very calming. I don't do any cross-legged mat exercises though, it's all done in standing.

Victoria Liston: Thankyou for your reply. I think I'll give the crossed legs a miss & concentrate on the barre work. I love the quigong exercises too.
