vaginal itching

Body:

Anyone any tips. Itching inside for no apparent reason. Starts suddenly. Help.

don't wear unders for a while?

I just now put the vinegar on my self and it is still stinging when does it stop I followed with the raw honey
I sure hope this will help it if not I am going to try the coconut oil, I always have coconut oil on hand, I like the taste of coconut oil.
Where can I find cornflower? I've never heard of it, I've heard of cornmeal you don't mean that do you?
I too have itching under my breast I read on the internet that the best thing for that is to put two pieces of white cotton cloths under the breast to keep it dry so that's what I do and believe it or not it does help, but I've now found another webpage where they make these cloths that wicks away the sweat from under the breast and if you have a big belly or you perspire like I do in the thigh area you put these cloths in those areas it will keep it dry, I can hardly wait for it to come.
Thank you for your advise I am so thankful, I will try everything you have suggested.
How do I find the threads you mentioned that are on the forum?

Yes, I get that too, Heavelyflower.

I think my skin doesn't like being rubbed in a low oxygen environment that happens in skin folds, particularly under my breasts, where it will develop into raised hive like lesions that can be very sore and difficult to treat (thrush?). I recently had a mole check (for cancer screening) on my whole body recently at a free community event (we Australians do fellowship in strange ways!) organised by a local service club. The Dermatologist who did mine said that as we age and our bodies sag it is very common to get several types of harmless skin lesions, (many of which I do have, but nothing sinister) on the belly and abdomen, usually in the wrinkly bits. Humans, it seems, are once again, not meant to be fat. ;-)

Change your bra daily, or go without. Rinse well to ensure that there is no detergent/soap residue, and maybe add a little vinegar to the last rinse. Where are the cotton bras of yester year??? Bloody nylon and polyester!!!! I have recently purchased some one piece bras, which are kind of like shaped crop tops. They have no underwires or clips, lots of elastance, but are very soft, and inexpensive. The nylon doesn't seem to irritate, as it is very finely knitted. The best way to get into them is by stepping into them and pulling them up and putting your arms through the arm holes. Putting them on from the top is somewhat like wrestling with a rubber band, and boobs end up getting in the way, resulting in a barrage of bad language. Some have a little clip at the back for pulling the shoulder straps together at the back as the last stage of putting the garment on, so they don't fall off your shoulders. Heaven!

Older women won't end up with the pert, playboy boobs look, but they do keep wandering breasts in one place during everday activities. No more figure eights on this chest! ;-) My breasts seem to be expanding around under my arms in a fold that meets up with the one from the back. Because there is no underwire to fence my rebellious breast in towards the front of my body, or cut into my breasts as they wander around, my breasts are now organic and free range (helped by my vegan laundry detergent!), but oh, so comfortable! They sometimes have removeable nipple cover-uppers that slide into a pocket from the inside, if you want to wear a t-shirt and not have your erect nipples on display to the world.

Prickly heat powder, which is based on Fuller's Earth which is high in magnesium oxide, and often has zinc oxide added, is also very useful. It kind of absorbs your sweat and soothes. It really sticks to skin, unlike talc, but has to be rinsed off clothing with soap or deteergent - really easy. It is kind of greasy, and water repellant and cannot be rinsed off with water. This is ironic, considering that it absorbs moisture on you skin and gets kind of caked on like a skin if your skin is moist. It is a very old remedy for itchy skin, particularly in the tropics. There are lots of brands. I usually have to buy mine at a pharmacy, and always carry it when I travel to a different climate. Itchy underboobs can strike at the most inopportune times, and are best dealt with immediately for quick healing.

Louise

Hi - cornmeal & cornflour could be the same thing - diff names in diff countries? It is a fine white flour like wheat flour & used in cooking, often in cakes or to coat food before frying.
Thanks also for your pearls of wisdom Louise this under boob and around the back itch is a nightmare, & ever since I found a link to bra free info website have been liberated from wearing them mostly @ home at the moment. I am going to see if I can make my own cotton ones or camisoles so I don't offend when wearing my white fine cotton tops in Summer.
I'm WWPosture free, no more pulling in abs etc for me free, a Whole Woman, need for bras free & going to make my own cotton sanitary napkins all due to this wonderful forum!! So Liberating!!!Thanks all
Will try prickly heat powder also - remember Curash for babies?
Soon be less itchy too!!
Good luck Heavenly Flower & thanks Louise,
Best wishes

cotton bras @ $20.00 at Best and Less, sometimes Target, no wire, no fill, just cotton and elastic and hook and eye. Large range up to DD. Also latest ones have a wider space between cups which is more comfortable in the heat. Possibly smart to get a size larger as they are made overseas. Also thin cotton, thin strapped singlets sometimes at Cotton On or Big W, be careful not to get the cotton/lycra ones sometimes on sale. With the thin singlet on top no nipple display. Don't know why the singlet helps, extra absorbancy? If you are still intent on sewing your own, one of these if a good fit might make a good pattern.

I want to thank all you wonderful ladies for all your advises I haven't had any problems before when I first started with this awful thing called menopause I started in my early thirties and finished in my late forties, then in my early or middle fifties I believe is when I experienced the prolaspe, none of the doctors I saw even knew what it was and kept wanting to do surgery which I absolutely refused, and now in my earliy seventies I'm experiencing this awful itching under the breast that I use to use neosporin pain + relief until I read on the wonderful internet about using cotton pieces of material under the boobs and found that it really really works no ointments, creams, nothing it took approximately 5 days and it's all gone no itching, no hive like bumps pure clear skin (smile), then I'm on the internet again and out jumps this ad about a material that wicks away the sweat from under every loose piece of skin on our body that will keep us itchy free and sore free I can hardly wait for it to come I will certainly tell all of you wonderful ladies about.
Now back to all this pain, and itching that's going on in my crotch or groin area I put the vinegar diluted of course on it and it stung right from the start, followed by the raw honey, I really wanted to cry I didn't get any relief from it what I want to know is how long are you suppose to do it? before you get any relief I'm willing to try, but if there is any thing else I can use and get like immediate relief I would prefer that instead, I did read where Christine said she tried several different things but thought she didn't use it long enough, but now she uses the vinegar straight, I'm assuming she doesn't have the rash and bumps anymore to use the vinegar straight (smile)
Now my Aussie Soul Sis you say for me to use cornflower are you meaning corn starch? it is smooth as flour, and can be used in cooking, and baking, cornmeal is little grains like sand and used for baking cornbread.
Louised if I was to go without a bra I would have sweat spots all under my boobs (smile) I wear a D cup bra, usually I go without a bra when I get up in the morning before I take my shower and by that time I am soaking wet, now that you, Fab and my daughter has been telling me to wear wireless cotton bras I may have to try it again I can remember in my teenage years when my older sister took me to buy my first bra, bras in those days were cotton without under wires and it had nice forms I guess I am vain but I don't like the round or flat look me at 72, oh well!!!!!.
My next question is is it okay for me to use the diaper rash creams on the vulva with my uterus always hanging out? even after I push it back in it falls out soon after, or for that matter all the other things you all have mentioned?
Mahalo and much Aloha Aussie Soul Sis, Louised, and Fab.
Heavenlyflower

Hi Heavenly Flower,
Yes that's its other name! it is corn starch!!
You could try vinegar baths - 2cups vinegar in a full bath, however I'm not sure about your prolapse being out at the time...
Christine uses flax seed oil on exposed prolapse - look up flax seed oil as well for more info.
To find threads relating to anything you wish to know go to the top left of this page & you will see an empty space for writing in say vinegar & click on the magnifying glass symbol next to that & it will do a search. Try reading everything that you can - it is a font of info here.

Hi there my Aussie Soul Sis, thank you or like we say in Hawaiian Mahalo nui loa this means thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help.
Mahalo and much Aloha,

My knowledge on cornstarch is that there is wheat based cornstarch and corn based cornstarch- cornstarch and cornflour may be the same thing but corn meal is corn and is usually coarser.
People who are gluten intolerant have to watch out for the wheat cornstarch- tho they are eating it not wearing it.

You are very welcome, dear Heavenly Flower,
this is a wonderful forum - I have not looked back since finding all my lovely helpful Sisters here, with Christine & Lanny. I have spent a lot of time reading everything - it is so worth the time, while sitting in WWP.
While thinking of all our Sisters on the forum, from all over the world, I came up with this little description, which I have put on one of the threads before, so in case you have not seen it this is how it goes...
"you are not alone - we are all beautiful, individual pieces of a giant quilt with long silk threads linking us across the miles!!"

Heavenlyflower, I am cringing at the thought of the pain you must be experiencing putting undiluted vinegar on this rash. I like the idea of a bath with a little vinegar in it. Just have a soak, and let it do its work for longer time, in a less brutal form. As I understand it the vinegar adjusts the pH of the vagina, which is desirable for the good bacteria, rather than actually killing bad bacteria. When the good bacteria are happy they can do their job of keeping the other microorganisms under control. It is all about balance.

My daughter got nappy rash cream wherever I could put it, except in her vagina. Yes, it would have gone inside her vulva, but I doubt that it got in her vagina. Nappy rash cream is for babies' skin. If you know what is in it, and the ingredients look harmless, I wouldn't be too worried about where it goes.

We are taught about menopause as a day when we have have been without menstruation for twelve months. We are taught about perimenopause as several years preceding that day, during which we may experience annoying symptoms of the decrease in oestrogen being made in our ovaries.

I like the term menopausal continuum, which starts with almost imperceptible alterations to our menstrual cycle, then perimenopausal symptoms, then at some point, cessation of menses, followed by many more years in some instances of more perimenopausal symptoms, with symptoms of ageing layered over the top.

The menopausal continuum can last over thirty years all up, which is about the same time we spend in our childbearing years, overlapping them considerably! It is just another phase of life, and a very long one at that.

Good Morning Louised, Talking about burn and not only that the pain lingered for hours, I don't think I want to do that ever again, you speak about a little vinegar in a bath of water how much vinegar? at this point I am willing to do anything to find a little comfort, I've tried A&D ointment with Zinc, I tried the A&D ointment plain or original, the vinegar and now I'm using the cornstarch so far the cornstarch is giving me the most comfort, oh I'm even doing the fan drying I don't understand the use of the fan because after using it I still have alot of moisture that comes from the creases in my leg area!!!
What is the fluid that is coming from the creases? all of this is new to me I have never experienced this much discomfort except one time when I was younger, when I had a similar experience and I went to see a dermatologist and he told me that I was having an allergic reaction from the elastic around my legs but I can't remember what it was he prescribed for me and if I can remember the rash was only in the creases of my legs not like whats going on now.
Will the vinegar bath cause any problems to my exposed prolaspe?
One more question how long does the itching and pain last? and should I go to see my doctor?
I do want to thank all of you kind women for all your help.

Dear Heavenly Flower'

Aussie Soul sister's suggestion was two cups of vinegar to a full bath.

I think when you said your rash was wet, we were thinking either from sweat or because it was so sore you could not dry yourself properly after bath or shower. But this sounds like the rash is oozing. In which case one usually bandages the area tight so that the oozing would not spread and infect elsewhere. Do you think the rash is oozing and that is why it is wet? If so, yes I think you should see a doctor.

Aussie soul sister suggested a low heat fan to dry after washing so that you did not have to rub where it is sore with a towel and perhaps hurt yourself more.

guessed what I meant aussie soul sister, but I meant to warn against lycra/elastane mix singlets. Most modern cotton bras are made from cotton lycra which is quite ok. The singlets I was mentioning are the thin open weave cotton ones rather than the knitted cotton lycra for summer and the thicker weave for winter. Honestly, sometimes getting it exact is a torture.

You probably can only get knitted cotton (not lycra) singlets, and they are comfortable, but there are summer and winter grades. It was cotton/elastrane also that I don't find comfortable in underclothes. Do not breathe so well as the pure cotton and they have something plastic about them.

I'd like to blame the interruptions I have had writing these posts, but that would be only part of the story.

Hi Fab,
Regarding singlets - a few yrs ago now I bought a number of cotton coloured singlet tops from Supre, which were not stretchy - I don't think they had anything in them except cotton. They were so comfy & kept their shape - they are on their last legs now, so I bought what Supre had only last summer - they have stretch & are a little "plastic" too & are out of shape already & are not comfortable, or flattering by themselves. The search will continue.... will check out Target & Big W first.

I make my husband's long sleeved singlets from cotton skivvies by cutting off & hemming the roll neck. They don't show under business shirts ( used to make them from a pattern from the shirt, from a cotton knit fabric)
Will see what I can get & let you know what I come up with. Bought a pair of cotton fisherman's pants at a fair last wkend - never heard of them before - they are interesting...
Best wishes Fab

It's amazing to me that one mere mention of the word "unvaccinated" can spur such a heated and emotional debate. Why is it that we hold vaccines as sacred, and any mention of questioning them is akin to blasphemy? We are all entitled to question what is done to our bodies and children's bodies, period. We should be asking the questions...who is sponsoring the research about vaccines and vaccine damage? Who benefits or suffers monetarily from the results of the research? Why is there no research into Homeoprophylaxis, a more benign form of disease prevention? Personally, I have seen many children come to my homeopathic office with the after affects of a vaccine, days, weeks, or sometimes years later. When I give them the vaccine-specific homeopathic antidote to the vaccine, many of them get better, which for me is evidence that it was the vaccine, and not some "viurus" that the child picked up in the waiting room, as the doctor told the mother. Lots to think about, true, probably not the right forum for this discussion.

How does anyone know that this last comment is not some opportunistic advertisement for homeopathy?

This forum on prolapse and related subjects is evidence based through Christine’s thorough research. It’s all out there in Christine’s book and can be discussed or argued by supporters and critics alike. Have you purchased a copy?

But that thorough research has not been done on vaccination and any comments here against vaccination cannot be accepted as valid, until they are evidence based. Assertions were made without evidence and assertions were answered.

I hope you will at least try the honey and vinegar. Dilute the vinegar to greatly diminish burning. I seem to remember you used some kind of honey that burned - I recommend using raw, local honey from a good source in your area. If it burns or doesn't work, it was still worth trying, as these substances can't hurt you, and many of us are finding them to be good remedies.

We need to experiment a bit in life. No one can give you pat answers whether this or that will work for you.

Be brave!

Christine

Agree with Fab, this homeopathy poster did not come here to discuss prolapse, and doesn't have anything to add to the vaccination conversation. Tigerlilly, do you have prolapse? If so, this is the place for answers. - Surviving

...Isn't it up to Homeopaths to arrange research like this? All research has to be paid for by someone, presumably someone who has a hunch that a particular theory is correct. Logic tells me that if the theory turns out to be correct that person/modality stands to gain a lot of credibility and return on their dollar invested in the cost of doing the research.

Unfortunately the days of doing good quality research at government expense just for the sake of answering a question, are over. If there are no dollars resting on one outcome or the other the research will not be funded. Research and Development cost is precisely why pharmaceutical drugs are so darned expensive. The consumer ultimately pays for the research, whether out of their own pocket at point of sale, or via tax rebates of some sort at the end of the financial year. They have every angle covered.

Heavenlyflower, how big is a bath?

I would get in the half full bath and keep adding vinegar until I could *just* taste it in the water, ie the water has gone slightly acidic. *OR* it starts to sting just a little bit, which happens first. If it stings too much, add more water. Don't put yourself through hell. I don't think that a mild level of acidity will hurt your uterus.

However, Fab is also urging you to ask a doctor. I would concur with this. It just seems to be not getting better, and not really responding to home remedies. At least the doctor can get it cultured, and find out if there are any bugs in it. Doctors can be quite useful.

Then you will have less possibilities to deal with and will be further on your way to a solution. If you have a bug of some sort it is there in a big way, so it is not going to go away with one treatment. It will take a while.

Afterthought. Have you done a patch test with calamine lotion?

Louise

Christine, Thank you for your advise but I wish I had waited to read where you say to dilute the vinegar because I read your post where you said you used the vinegar straight and followed with the honey, man on man that certainly wasn't the right recipe for me at that time it burned for days and made it so much more difficult to sit straight up, so on Monday I went to see my doctor, and she was ready to give me antibiotics but after she took a sample and I'm thinking it didn't show it to have bacterial infection she prescribed Fluconazole and a fungal powder which I didn't get much relief from, so I used fresh Aloe juice from my cousins yard and pat it directly on the creases of my legs and in and around my vaginal area where it was itchy and burning and making alot of fluid and this morning it is 100% percent better it is dry and not so itchy, I think all the moisture was causing the burning, because it was wet.
So from now on I'm wiping myself with fresh Aloe juice every morning and night and drinking it in between my water.
I have never experienced that much discomfort, I did notice after I applied the vinegar the whole area got swollen.
Thank you again,
Mahalo and much ALoha,
Heavenlyflower

Louised & Fab, I did see my doctor on Monday after a culture, found that I have a Yeast infection, she prescribed Fluconazole and a fungal powder with the instructions not to let the powder get into my vagina, I thought okay but she saw that my Uterus was right where she could see it , I thought what else is in my vagina other than what was already hanging out, yes you can tell I am a little frustrated, but never the less I applied the powder very carefully with the largest cotton balls they sell but I didn't get any relief from the stinging and wetness, my cousin Bless her Heart has a patch of Aloe in her garden and she made me a gallon and I applied Aloe juice to the creases and around the vaginal area and this morning it's dry still a bit itchy but so far no burning yeah!!!, I guess Aloe juice is in my future from this day on.
I still want to try the diluted vinegar in my bath I have read so many good things about vinegar and like Christine believes you have to give some of these things a try, and I'm willing, but from now on I 'm going to wait and not be so hasty until I get the right recipe (smile)
Mahalo and much Aloha to you both,
Heavenlyflower

Aloha Heavenly Flower

Thanks for getting back. Fancy the old aloe vera doing the trick for you. I grow a few patches here and my youngest son if he cut or grazed himself would break off a bit and rub it on. He swears by it. (Much better than mum’s washing and antiseptic cream and bandaging and fussing.) I checked out Wikipedia and it mentioned aloe vera as successful for the treatment of fungus such as tinea and ….psoriasis, imagine! You do have a clever cousin. How long do you use it for? With fungal creams they say you must keep using them for at least a week after the rash clears up or it will reoccur.

No, if it is a yeast infection you would not want antibiotics because they tend to kill the bacteria in the vagina that normally suppress the growth of yeast. But keep an eye on it.

To answer your vinegar question seeing as how you had a burning reaction to straight vinegar why not try making up a very diluted blend to start with e.g. 1 part water to four parts vinegar and then slowly as you go increase the vinegar? But, as you say, in your bath is probably the best bet to start.

Keep up all your other efforts to preserve the acidity of your vagina, not too many perfumes, not too much washing, no synthetic undies and perhaps you could have a course of probiotics as these help to restore the physiological balance in the vagina.

Keep us posted and good luck.

So happy for you, HeavenlyFlower. Why didn't we think of aloe vera before? Well, at least it has been written about on the Forums now. People will find it by searching, hopefully. Hope the improvement continues.

Louise

Thank you for all your advise fab, I really don't know how long I will have to use the Aloe I will certainly use it on a regular basis from now on, I was reading an article on Aloe and it stated there was no danger in drinking or using it topically for any length of time because you can not over dose on it.
I figured out how I got into so much trouble with all that is going on with me, the weather here is very hot and humid I was in the process of teaching myself to sew new covers for my rattan furniture, and I was sitting for long periods of time and I noticed when I stood up my shorts was soaking wet even though I had two fans blowing on me and because of my prolaspe I do wear a Fembrace that has a synthetic panty, I do wear cotton panties and I had one on under the fembrace I had no idea that it would cause all this trouble if I had only known I would have taken everything in my bedroom where I have an air conditioner I'll know next time.
Most everything I use on my body is fragrance free I have been like this all my life where the slightest thing will cause a rash so I'm very cautious about what I put on my body I'm also allergic to elastic just today I found a company in North Carolina that sells cotton ladies boxers and panties with no elastic around the legs it has a cuff I ordered me some, I have been looking for these kind of panties for the longest time this computer is so wonderful.
Thank you again for all your advise and your concerns.
Mahalo and much ALoha,

I had a little itch in my vagina yesterday, that felt like thrush. I don't normally have much vaginal discomfort from day to day. So I did a vinegar treatment, which stung like crazy for a bit, and then a little honey high in the vagina. Half an hour later, no irritating sensations at all. No probs today either.

I think I might just make it a daily ritual.

I also get very itchy under my breasts and on my belly. Not wearing a bra helps, but I can't get away with that all the time. I now sloosh a bit of vinegar under my breasts and over my upper belly after a shower, before drying off. Fixed. I smell a bit like a potato crisp, but there are worse things to smell of.

I think my whole body has simply gone alkaline! Might be time to chuck the soap, and use a Dove Bar or something similar instead. Another change during the Change? Where will it end? Will I wake up as a frog one morning?

Louise
