Where to begin?

Body:

I'm not sure where to begin---I haven't been able to afford a doctor and found this site today in desperation as a link from Dr. Christiane Northrup while searching for information for what I thought was 'something inside me trying to get out that probably shouldn't be out'. After 5 minutes of reading about 'prolapse', I gladly discovered I was not alone and decided to try this instead of the doc route. I don't have the funds to purchase everything, and have no medical expertise to tell me what's coming out. I am 63 and 'things' have been gradually peeking out of my vagina for a few months as I've gently pushed them back in, but now it is getting too uncomfortable too often. I would love to start doing whatever 'proper' exercises asap if anyone can give me some guidance as to which book/video to purchase. Thanks so much!

Hi Thriver and welcome,

Here is the prolapse self exam for starters:

This is right from the book, Saving the Whole Woman, which would be a great investment into this work along with the First Aid for Prolapse DVD. You can find these in the whole woman store. If the budget is tight, the whole woman fundamentals would at least get you started:

Glad you have found us. You will find that the more you study about this work, the better you are going to feel. This work has helped so many of us with our prolapse issues, and it can help you too.

Thank you so much, Aging gracefully ;-)
I see the Saving the WW and First Aid DVD would be $74, but it doesn't include the WW Fundamentals. Would I still need that or is that info included in the other two?
Thanks!

Hi Thriver,
The Fundamentals is just a recap of the basics of posture and toileting. These are explored more thoroughly in the Saving the Whole Woman book and First Aid DVD.

Hi AG,
Thanks again---now I can move forward, and I'm tremendously excited to see some positive results! I'm very grateful for your help and advice ;-)
Thriver

Good day,
I am having some issues with how to use the toilet. Urinating isn't as difficult but eliminating is now. I've tried using the techique on the video that Christina talks about but now I can't seem to have a bowel movement, just gas. You know the one where you are to sit on the toilet with your thighs against the seat but not your behind. Are you to bend over and lift your behind off the seat, then twist to the right side and to the then left, bend over and press your stomach to your thighs? It is not working for me. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I always remember to remember (posture). HELP!!! I believe this is the right thing to do but I seem not to be able to figure it out.

Hi Iwassent2you,
I too had problems going at first with this work, with a combination of just plain constipation and the fact that my uterus was resting heavily on my rectum. I found that it was a process of engaging in everything I could do working and coaxing those pelvic organs forward into the lower belly so that having a bowel movement did eventually become more easy. Diet also played a huge part for me too, so getting into good dietary habits is so important.
One thing that helped me in the actual toileting act was to jiggle my organs forward first, a little firebreathing, and then a hovering squat above the toilet seat. As I felt the bowel movement moving, I would then lower down to the seat.
It does take practice and experimentation, some like to do a twist to get things moving along, so read around on here, lots of great ideas to choose from.
