When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!
Best wishes,

Pushing on the vaginal wall to help going to the bathroom
Hi LADodson1
Here is my description that I posted as part of another post. There are many women who are looking for solutions to this problem on this Forum. 'Constipation' and 'splintng' are good keywords to put into the Search box to find them. You will find references to splinting, and a lot of dietary ideas, though no doubt you have experienced many of these with a lifelong condition.
"I sometimes use the finger in the vagina trick (sometimes referred to as 'splinting' I believe?) just to push the rectocele back to what I imagine is in line with the rest of the bowel. I have to do it much less often these days, but it is very effective. Just be gentle, as you don't want to push it too far out of line the other direction
Actually I meant to type "thumb" rather than finger. I find that it is pretty easy to use the big fat, flat part of the thumb.
The most important part of it though, has been to amend my posture so that the bowel doesn't seem to kink back on itself quite so much, and the bladder and uterus are not pressing back on the bowel, rather flopping more forwards over the pubic bone. So the problem doesn't happen so much these days. Hope this helps.
Cheers
Louise
ps To get women's opinions of the surgery you will need to post exactly the type of surgery the doctor plans to do, then wait and see if anybody has had the same surgery. There are a few different procedures I think. L

My...
My Mother has had a rectocele for many years. Last year she got a pessary ring and she has found it wonderful.
I have read up on the surgeries and to be honest I have not read anything that makes me wanna have it (I have a rectocele grade1)
I think you ned to 'attack' the reasons why you are constipated (are you drinking enough etc) I find with my daughter that pure unsweetened orange juice usually helps tons to soften stools
The posture should take the pressure off and the dragging feeling should lessen.

hey there
hi LADodson1:
as louise already said, since you've been struggling with constipation your whole life, you are probably already familiar with the suggestions, but there is a long thread in the food forum that i started about constipation. you might want to look, though, again, i suspect you've tried most those things. (though this might be off the beaten track, but the castor oil packs might be REALLY helpful. just a thought.)
i hope you get the feedback you're looking for. it sounds like big surgery so i can see why you'd want to get input from women who have been through it. seems really prudent of you.
best of luck to you and congrats on your adoption!
