Rectocele, now pg with #5, will kegels or Kegelmaster device help with rectocele?

I have had a rectocele for about five years, it has always appeared as a small bulge just inside the vagina when I had to have a bowel movement. Now I'm beginning to wonder whether I should be more active in managing it. Will kegels or the Kegelmaster device do ANYTHING to reverse a rectocele? Has anyone on this board had any success?

Seeking input for rectocele trouble

Hello to all,

6th annual: Are shoes the cause of pelvic prolapse and dysfunction?

Forum:

Hi everyone,

The purpose of this yearly post is to stimulate interest and discussion about the biomechanical effects of shoes on "age-related" degenerative conditions, such as prolapse.

Chiropodist Dr. Simon J. Wikler pioneered efforts to understand the influences of shoes in the 1950's, but his work was neglected during the subsequent drug- and diet-based approaches to medicine. However, the prolific footwear historian and podiatrist Dr. William A. Rossi clearly demonstrated throughout his publications that shoes influence the posture of the human body. Therefore, using the posture-based approaches to medicine of the distinguished orthopedist Dr. Joel E. Goldthwait, I have expanded Dr. Wikler's insightful work to include a variety of illnesses and conditions whose causes remain unknown.

You may find my thesis regarding shoes and disease on the Internet at: http://www.shoebusters.com
Thank you very much for considering my novel approach.

How long to get a result ?

If I am dedicated in the application of the whole woman posture and follow your work out daily, how quickly will I see an improvement in a stage 1 uterine/cystocele prolapse ?

3rd degree prolapse

I was told by my doctor yesterday that my cervix is falling out. It protrudes slightly. She told me that I should have a hysdirectomy and keep my ovaries. My concern is that I want to be active. I am 42 and about 25 pounds overweight. I joined Curves and I am trying to eat better.

New here with 3rd degree cystocele slight rectocele

I am 29 yo and have a 17 month old. I had a natural birth with long pushing stage and vacuum delivery. I've been bummed about the problem since my doctor encouraged surgery after having all my children. She was great to fit me for a pessory.....but I've had trouble getting it into place ( I have the gehrung pessory).
I just started working on my posture and doing the excercises. I feel somewhat better, but was wondering what has really worked for any of you on managing your 3rd degree cystocele. I am also very nervous to get pregnant again.
Thanks, amamleigh

I have a LOT of questions!

First, I have not been 'officially' diagnosed with a rectocele as I am not a fan of going to the ob/gyn. I did however work in in OB/GYN office for 6 years so I am fairly certain this is the problem. ( I have had a bad cough for about a week, then had a bout of constipation..which has been an issue my ENTIRE life) That is when it presented itself. I was able to push it back manually and started taking Miralax again and haven't had an issue with it since. That was a few days ago. I have been doing some research and came across your site.

14wks pp and seeing improvments already!

i have a cystocele and rectocele and for the last few weeks i have seen a lot of improvements....i hardly notice that heavy feeling and since i changed my diet the rectocele barely bothers me either. Before i could see my cystocele bulging through but now i can barely see it. I know it may get worse again but i just wanted to share with everyone that i have seen improvements....i have been trying to rest as much as possible and i have been using the whole woman posture.:)

Another way of using the pelvic vacuum phenomenon

Hi All

You remember some time back we were discussing the issue of getting air in the vagina, particularly with yoga positions like downward dog, but also with firebreathing and even nauli?

I figure it is all to do with getting the uterus deep up into the belly, whether by vacuum or gravity.

For the past few months I have had a return of POP, while I have been doing heavy work related to building and garden. It is variable, day by day and still during my monthly cycle. Now I have eased off a bit my organs are spending more time up higher again. I knew they would.

hula hooping

Do you think hula hooping would be bad for prolapse? We got the Wii fit for Christmas and one of the exercises is hula hooping for aerobics. I don't want to do it if it might make my prolapse worse. Just wondering what you all thought.
