Do you tell people about your prolapse??

i have contemplated telling other woman i know about what im dealing with....for one so they will know that this can happen and two to see if anyone else i know has this....so far i have told 2 of my closest friends husband and mother in law...no one really knows what i am talking about. So it just makes me feel even more alone with this...i feel like people wont understand why i dont pick my 2 year old up or why i dont pick my 4 month old up in his carrier unless i have to....or what if someone ask me to help move something heavy what do i say? i have a prolapse and i cant?

thoughts on weaning?

Hi All,

Can anyone offer their wisdom on weaning a two year old? Believe me, I'm very careful not to meddle in my daughter's parenting of her child, but I just want to gather a little info in case I can gracefully pass it onto her.

The gist of it is that mom has been Ready to wean for months now, but baby will not give it up. Mom is extremely thin at this point (baby is Very chubby :) and her sleep is disrupted throughout the night by a ravenous nursling. Mom wants to give baby what she needs emotionally - but this could go on for years!!

Thoughts?

protecting POP with a fiesty 2 year old

HI all,

looking for some wisdom here. My little one is just 2, and very fiesty at times like many 2 year olds (i just missed this stage first time around).
Question is, how do i look after my POP through this stage?
For instance, yesterday he had a melt down in the street near our house when my arms where full of other bits, and I had to literally drag him so that I could get him inside for a cuddle and calmness, as i couldn't pick him up at that moment.

Sitting positions?

I'm having trouble with the sitting positions. I can't sit on the floor alot because I have mild arthritis in my hips and if I sit for more than a few minutes, they get very stiff & painful. I homeschool 2 of my children so alot of time is spent sitting & teaching/reviewing books/work, etc. How should I properly sit in a chair? Is the couch out entirely? We spent a lot of time doing read-alouds.

Numbness & incontinence

I'm 5 wks pp. About 3 wks ago I noticed a cystocele (probably grade 3) and have been doing kegels ever since. About 5 days ago I started to experience numbness in my pelvic area (including clitoris) and can no longer isolate the muscles for kegels very well. I'm also experiencing incontinence for the first time which seems to have coincided with this numbness. I can no longer stop urine midstream at all and also dribble a bit unknowingly. Does anyone have any idea what is happening to me and if this is likely to be transient or permanent?

I'm so discouraged

I wrote earlier and lost it so I hope this doesn't show up twice. I'm just very upset. I have a rectocele which I think is pretty bad. I got a pessary a couple of months ago and it was working fine for me. Well now I have a terrible yeast infection. I went back to the gynocologist yesterday and she said defintely yeast infection. I asked her if it could be caused by pessary and she said no. I am susceptible to yeast infection. She gave me a pill for yeast and also cream to use for 7 days. I have only used it last night so far.

Four weeks postpartum..willl it heal itself?

Hello everyone,

How to prevent serious illness of your pelvic organs??

So I'm going in for my yearly soon and im just wondering what you ladies do to make sure everything is okay up there. I've heard that the papsmear they do can only detect whats on the cervix....sooo what about your uterus or your ovaries. I believe they have just recently come out with a test they can do to check to see if you carry the gene that causes breast cancer or ovarian cancer. What about HPV? arent there several types??

Rectocele

Hi
Just joined the site in the hope of sharing and getting some answers to some of my worries!! I have an external rectal prolapse (which I had repaired surgically and came back after the birth of my 1st child) and also I have just been diagnosed with a rectocele. The rectocele causes my cervix to pull down into my vagina (is this normal) I have just found out I am 6 weeks pregnant and so worried about the implications and whether this will cause problems in my pregnancy. I was partcularly worried last night when I found my cervix floating in my vagina!!!!

Difference between "shifted bladder" and prolapse?

I was on here before and thought I had a uterine prolapse prior to going to th dr. Well I went to my family dr. and had her check me out. I am 11 wks pp and noticed at around 8 wks that i didn't look the same. When i look sitting down in the mirror I can see flesh that should not be there with a hole...which is my bladder. This is in my vaginal canal.
