Full of questions this morning

Good morning All

We have a blustery morning here after a gorgeous sunshine-filled day yesterday. I hope you have sunshine wherever you are.

I am after advice from all you wonderful women if anyone could please help me.

Pain puzzle

I know we can’t get medical advice from a forum, nor should we expect to, but I have a problem that I am not having any luck getting an answer to, and I feel it is really important that I get an answer. My radar is up on this one. So far, in the past two weeks, I have been to a urologist, had a pelvic MRI, and have just come from the gynecologist today. So, medically, I have been trying to find answers. And it is expensive.

Anyone here use an exercise bike?

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of getting an exercise bike (not recumbent) to improve fitness. From my searches on the forums it seems an upright type bike is good for the posture, especially if the handlebar is lowered so you are leaning at more of an acute angle. Have I got it right?

Also, I gather that extra padding on the saddle is helpful.

What I want to know is: have any of you used an exercise bike REGULARLY FOR A LONG TIME (not just for a few weeks) since POP diagnosis and has it made POP symptoms worse at all?

Thanks!

Prams

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a light weight pram that you can get for babies? My last pram weighed a tonne and was really heavy to lift in and out of the car boot. So much for not lifting anything heavier than your baby, the pram is the biggest weight I want to avoid for my POP after baby two comes along. Any ideas would be great. I'll do a bit of baby slinging as well, but will still need the pram at times for outings etc.

Whole Woman Balms

I would like to encourage all who have such a need to try the Whole Woman Balms. The vulva balm has replaced my need for anything else and the peri balm is so very soothing. The bliss balm is sensuously slippery. The three jar special also makes them a treat to buy. I hope I'm not sounding like a commercial, but after buying and trying so many things it is nice to find these high quality, tissue nourishing balms.

Christine, web classes?

Hi Christine,

Just wondering if you have a time-frame for the web/pod casting (sorry if incorrect term) exercise classes yet? I am so looking forward to them. Do you know how it will work as far as fee structure? Maybe a membership, or by the class? Sorry for so many questions. Just so curious. Kit

Picking up little ones!

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what the best way to pick up my daughter is? She is only 16 months so I do pick her up alot but I am not sure I am doing it the best way. Getting her in and out of her buggy as well seems to be difficult as I come out of posture and end up bending at the waist.

Help/advice appreciated.

Relieving Discomfort During Pregnancy

I'm at 9 weeks with baby number 2 now. I'm starting to feel uncomfortable going on walks etc. I'm about where I was at just after having my first bub again. I've ordered a prenatal cradle but there seem to be export problems with it getting here.

In the meantime I'm seeing the ob next week (I'm doing shared care with a midwife for homebirth). Anyway, I'm wondering whether I should ask about using a pessary?

Gynaecologist

Hi ladies,

I have just got back from my appointment with the Gynaecologist. He has told me that I do not have a prolapse but a slight sagging of the front wall, which he said was nothing to worry about. Once again I was floored! I said but surely it is not normal to be able to put your finger right through the centre of your cervix which is only about 1.5 inches inside your vagina!! The examination was carried out with me lying on an examination table and I did say that my cervix will go back up when lying down but he asked me to cough several times an said that nothing was coming down or bulging.

“Quackometer” probes websites for pseudoscience

Hi All

Here's a bit of a laugh, depending on how seriously you take this stuff. This comes from The Lancet Blog, . I found it while I was looking for the article referred to by Bertilsgirl. http://blogs.thelancet.com/ .

www.wholewoman.com comes up as not being a Quackery site. An Christine Kent comes up as not being a Quack. Why am I not surprised? British Medical Journal came up as a 2 Duck quackery website. Whoops!

Cheers

Louise
