Light at the end of the tunnel......

Hello everyone!

It's been quite a while since I managed to post anything here....The days of despair don't blight me any more and for this reason (and if any of you remember me) I thought it might be worth sharing my story and the lessons I've learned since my diagnosis. So, when I was diagnosed with the dreaded 'all three' I was in despair. I didn't go out anywhere as I was in so much pain and couldn't bear to plan anything as could never see anything through. My darkest moment came after my gyn told me I had grade "2 1/2" prolapse of womb, bladder and bowel and would definitely need an operation - after which he gave me a lesson in anatomy, took my hands, and explained where everything was. I'd never have thought I could be so grateful for such an explanation but I really was. I thought my dreams of having another child had been taken away from me.

Hello everyone!

My darkest moment came after my gyn told me I had grade 3-4 prolapse of womb, bladder and bowel and would definitely need an operation - after which he gave me a lesson in anatomy, took my hands, and explained where everything was. I'd never have thought I could be so grateful for such an explanation but I really was. I thought my dreams of having another child had been taken away from me.

Question for granolamom

Hi Granolamom,

I'm curious as to how you came about the name "granolamom". If it has to to with all kinds of recipes regarding granola, I'd like your input on making granola bars without wheat, dairy, soy and sugar. I just made some bars with raisins, coconut, bananas, walnuts, oats and applesauce for my husband, but would like some different flavored ones. I'm not sure how to combine new ingredients, because of moisture content, where they'll stay together and not fall apart. If you have recipes, and would like to, you can email them to me. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks and blessings,

Toilet height

We are remodelling our bathroom. I need to decide on toilet height (we will have a wall mounted toilet, so we can put it at every height we wish). "Everybody" seems to think that a little higher is better, because it is easier to get up from a higher toilet. Based on what I read on this site, I think a lower toilet is better, because it will be easier to squat. Do you have any opinions on ideal toilet height?

What kinds of exercises are appropriate after Cystocele and Rectocele diagnosis for general fitness?

Hi,
I'm glad I found this site!!
I have just found out I have Grade II Cystocele and Rectocele with stress incontinence. I'm a 40 year old with two children. Had much pressure and pain around the cervix area over a month and was treated for UTI initially as that is what they thought was wrong.
Now I know the pressure and abdominal tenderness was due to this. Can I buy that book on posture online? Also could anyone tell me if playing tennis would make this any worse. What are the best forms of general exercise for Cystocele and Rectocele? I really need to stay fit and am afraid to do too much bouncing around in case I make it any worse. The bulge feeling and pressure down there is the worst.

Second edition of Saving The Whole Woman

I would like to buy the book, but I see that the first edition is already sold out. I saw mentions of a second edition on this site. Could you tell me if it will be released soon?

HELP WITH DOCTORS and exams...

HI there,
i am a "long term friend" of WholeWoman and there is a story about doctors that I should share with all (just to tell how BAD it can be)... But at this moment I don't have the time to write the story - I just need some advice...

After having a prolapse for 16 months I feel like I need a real medical examination to know what is EXCATLY my situation. At this moment I don't know really wheter my uterus is still down or is it just my rectum and bladder. And to what extent and how about urethra...? It's all very confusing.

So I have been thinnking to go and have a detailed examination done by a specialist in San Fransisco, the Women's Health Center (specialised for prolapses and incontinence)...

Hi My Pregnancy update...

Haven't posted for some time, but still coming to the site each week and reading heaps. It is now hard to implement the posture, but still doing everthing I can. Certainly no straining and trying to maintain my upper posture. Trying not to lift my 2 year old unless necessary.

It sure has been a rollercoaster ride of a pregnancy. But I thought I would type an update on how I am going. I am now 34 wks pg, can't believe only 6 wks before baby is due. Everthing was going fine until at 14-15 weeks of my pregnancy, I had a prolapse, my cervix was hanging out of my vagina. At 18 weeks it went back up. I am till this day still experiencing heavyness and bulky, in the back of vagina. My doctor doesn't see any point in referring me to any specialist because "nothing can be done" because I am pregnant.I am not sure whether the bulky feeling I have is my vagina wall or varicous veins or what.

CYSTOCELE PROCEDURE CALLED S.P.A.R.C. ???

IS ANYONE OUT THERE FAMILIAR WITH A CYSTOCELE PROCEDURE CALLED S.P.A.R.C.? IT DOES INVOLVE AN INCISION IN THE VIGINA AND A POLYPROPALYN MESH SLING BROUGHT UP THROUGH TWO INCISIONS IN THE PUBIC AREA.

Am I expeiriencing prolapse symptoms

I stumbled across your site whilst searching for sites advising on episiotomy healing (8 weeks PP my eipsitonomy scar is still breaking down in places and I am getting little help from the medical profession!). However, I was concerned to read about some site members prolapse symptoms as I realised that I had been experiencing some similar things. Am I suffering from prolapse or just normal post partum problems which will gradually go away?...

1. slight incontinence, i.e. when I sneeze or laugh. Also I don't realise I need to go to the loo until I start leaving slightly then realise my bladder is completely full
