posture exhausting

so I have been trying to use the posture for about ten days- I am feeling pretty tired. So today I took the day off and remained vertical- which felt wonderful but..

1. It seems that my rectocele was worse today after doing nothing
2. does the tiredness go away?
3. while I'm at it does anyone else find it really hard to maintain the posture while taking care of little children?

that's all for now. B

Prolapse question - I need your help

I'm hoping that someone can help or shed some light on a new development that I have been experiencing. It seems that when I have a bowel movement and have to strain some that it stresses out my pelvic floor. I am taking miralax which is helping some and am eating lots of fruits & veggies. I have also increased my water inake. I additionally take flax seed oil pills.

I also seem to have to pee frequently after having a bowel movement. Is this common, what does it mean? I will say that I must add that having a bowel movement causes me extreme anxiety. I have started having panic attacks and am so worried about stressing my prolapse and causing it to get worse.

Mystery Yeast?

I'm wondering if someone out there can help out here. I've only had a few yeast infections in my life, related to taking antibiotics, and they've gone away immediately with the use of Monistat. Last weekend, after three days in a row of using vaginal weights (with some K-Y jelly) I developed some itching and irritation around the opening of the vagina and vulva. On Monday, I went to the doc, and they said it was yeast. She prescribed Diflucan (a one-dose pill) and said to use Monistat externally. On Wednesday, I still felt irritated, so I called back, and they told me to take another dose of Diflucan and continue to use the Monistat. Thursday, I still felt symptomatic, so they asked me to come in. Upon examining me, the NP said I was red, irritated and inflamed around the vaginal opening. She also said I had small, raised bumps in the inflamed part which indicates yeast. So she prescribed a cream (Nystatin/Triamcinolone) which is a strong anti-fungal and some sort of steroid. With GREAT trepidation, I used it last night and this am, I still feel the same irritation. I feel like the NPs I've seen are guessing and prescribing stronger and stronger medications without really knowing what is going on. I've never had a problem with yeast and have not taken antibiotics in a long time. So, I'm curious if anyone out there has had a similar experience.

Re use of ring pessaries

I have had a ring pessary for about a year with a lot of discomfort. The latest one was replaced last week and I have had to remove it already as its very painful.

I understood that it was always replaced with a "new" one. I found that the latest one appears to have marks and dents that would indicate that it may have been recycled ?

The previous one also had to be replaced because it had a split in it causing severe pain...maybe it was recycled too?

The packet that my latest one came out of looked similar to an autoclave package used for surgical instruments....does anyone know whether this is common practice?

Newly Diagnosed Cystocele & Rectocele

This week I was diagnosed with a cystocele and a rectocele. I am the mother of two young children . . .ages 2 and 3 months. Both of them were very large boys when they were born, 11 lbs. 2 oz and 10 lbs 15 oz. respectively. The physician feels that they are the cause of my prolapse. His first question to me was about wanting future children, because he would otherwise like to perform a hysterectomy. I do want future children and wouldn’t want a hysterectomy even if I didn’t! He has recommended surgery to repair the prolapse and has advised this would prevent me from having future children via vaginal birth.

Birth Control Pills and Prolapse

Does anyone know if taking birth conrol pills would be helpful in managing prolapse. I ask because I have read that hormone replacement therapy can help women with prolapse after menopause. I am 40 and have not entered menopause but was wondering if bith control pills could help strengthen what is weak due to the additional estrogen? (If I am on to something, what pills are recommended)?

It was also suggested to me by a friend of mine who is a nurse that it might be better for me to be on birth control pills just to keep my cycle regulated. She thought it would be less hormonal pressure? Not exactly sure what she meant but in any event wondered what you all thought.

Support....

Thank you all for your kind words. I just feel so so sad thinking of my daughter's first two years of life. I felt like she was robbed of my full potential to be the best mom. I did what i could at the time with extra help. I just couldn't do the same as I did for my first two children. My sons were surrounded with love and support. It isn't suppose to turn out that way for her.

The onset of my prolapses after her 1st birthday was a huge challenge to me. I wasn't always patient and loving to them. Contributing to the stress was a failing marriage. My husband did not stand by my side through that ordeal. I don;t think my children knew that i am so much better physically now and I had wanted to make up for the tough times that we went through this year. I don't want them to remember those last times of me in the home as negative. I just miss everything about them when I am not with them. They are all trivial things that I took for granted and some I didn't have the strength to even deal with before. But I miss all that.

No Prolapse?

Hi everyone,

I had an appointment with a different Dr. in my doc's practice this am. I had to go in for what I suspected was a yeast infection. Anyway, the doc I saw was a urogyno and she wanted to check on my prolapse(s) as she was interested that I was doing all sorts of work to improve them (postures, diet, fire-breathing (recently) and using vaginal weights (even more recently). Anyway, she had me cough a few times (since I am terrified of bearing down) and said emphatically that whatever I was doing must really be working because everything was very well supported. She said she detected "a slight softening in the anterior vaginal wall" but said that she would not even characterize it as a cystocele. She said that my rectum and uterus where very well supported and showed no signs of bulging.
