ANY OLD RUNNERS OUT THERE?

I have a rectocele, cystocele, and I suspect they are all that is holding up my uterus. Being post menopausal, I haven't the same hope of improvement that post partum women have. My bulges are near the point of coming outside my body, and if they did that I think I would have to settle for an operation, without any illusions as to what that would mean. So I can't afford to make things any worse. BUT I so want to go on running. Has anyone done so successfully in a similar situation?

How to find cervix/uterus??

I know this sounds like a really stupid question but I've been trying to see whether my, in addition to cystocele and rectocele, my uterus has also prolapsed.

I've looked and felt extensively in my vagina and I'm not sure whether my cervix/uterus is. I have followed the directions of the self-exam and haven't had any success. I thought I found it but when I tried to 'push' it up to the top of my vagina, it seemed attached to the back wall and only went up so far.

Rectocele - TMI

Hello all

After discovering a cystocele 6 months ago (when my baby was 6 months old), it seems I have now developed a rectocele which seems worse than the cystocele. Ho hum.....

Anyway, I was improving for 3 months and then at 3 months after I discovered it, things went bad again. Ho hum.....

Nauli - am I doing it right?

Hi

Exercise and pregnancy

I just wanted to know if any of the exercises in the DVD are not good to do while pregnant? And what exercises has everyone found to be helpful for cystocele while pregnant?

New, and wondering about pain/menopause

Hi there all

I'm new and have been diagnosed with a mild rectocele (after 2 natural births 2 and 4 years ago). I've also been suffering with severe anaemia and also with mild to moderate pain in my left side. I am 37, but seem to have some menopausal symptoms - hot flushes, night sweats, bleeding gums, lack of concentration and mood swings. I was wondering if a) anyone has heard of prolapse causing early menopause? and

Thank you Christine

Dear Christine,

Feel like I'm totally backwards now - burning sensation?

Hi to all

I will keep it short. I discovered bladder prolapse 6 months after 2nd son was born by c/section. I had no symptoms of the prolapse before 6 months post-partum. My first son was born after a VERY long labour, epidural, ventouse etc. I had severe bladder damage after the first birth but no prolapse (that they said they could find). Pelvic floor issues and had to self-catherterise for 6 weeks - HELL!!

The prolapse made itself known after I returned to exercise (after 3 years!) and I also lifted a very heavy table.

I save stopped Kegels and now I feel so much better!

I really am!
Christine, I am with you 100%! Kegels did nothing but made my prolapse worse. Since I stopped them altogether, I feel better down there, my bladder "calmed down" and I almost completely lost the urge (okay, since I started bladder training, it started to improve anyway).

My pelvic floor is strong. All my sphincters work just fine, I regained my tone and I still have muscle fatigue down there after a looooong walk (posture!), so I guess WW walking is healing me just fine without these PF contractions.
