postpartum exercise and Christine's video IMHO

When I joined this site I was overwhelmed by all the information and advice. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money if I didn't have to. At first I was a little disappointed with the video because I expected it to be something I could follow along with (Jane Fonda anyone?) but after doing the exercises faithfully for a few months I decided that it was money well spent.
I graduated from UF with a degree in exercise and sport sciences- so I do not make this recommendation lightly.
The exercises contained in Christine's video are very good for postpartum moms.
I am now 9 months PP and I have started to do the exercises in the book instead-

Sloshy Feeling

I have noticed that at times I will get up from sitting, or be standing and begin to walk and I feel this sloshy feeling. Almost like my bladder is a glass that is sloshing around. I am not incontinent at all but it worries me a little. I have a cystocele and rectocele--both graded at two.
Also, I feel like going to the bathroom--like I have a full bladder and then I go but it is holding--or shall I say lets go of very little liquid. I do change position many times during the day when I go--I rise up, lean forward etc. to make sure I am getting rid of as much as possible. I have had no infections, no pain and no burning at all in the eight months I have had prolapse but I am just wondering if this is just common to the prolapse.

I'm new and 5 weeks Postnatal - help!

Hello lovely ladies,

My name is Zoe and I am from the UK.

I have felt 'heavy' since the birth of my gorgeous boy 5 weeks ago. On looking in the mirror I saw a huge pink bulge at the entrance to my vagina. I I asked the midwife to have a look at 10 days Post natal but she examined me lying flat on my back and said all was well. It was only 2 weeks ago that I realised this 'heaviness' was a prolapse and wasnt going to disappear!

I have since researched and examined myself and realise this is a large cystocele that is right at the entrance to my vagina and late in the evening is very close to protruding out.

Brown patches of skin on both sides of inner thigh

I wasn't sure if weight from the proalpse caused it or if it's normal to have this. I noticed it this morning after taking a shower. I went to see the gynocologist last week. Wouldn't he has said something if it was something serious? I'm getting worried.

Best Sleep Position for Prolapse?

I am wondering if there is a most helpful sleep position for uterine prolapse? (I have cystocele also, if that makes a difference.)I am a long-term stomach sleeper, but can sometimes sleep on my side w/a body pillow. Since the prolapse, I often wake w/a strong lower backache. I also frequently get the sesation that my bladder is full, when it is actually not, when laying in bed. Any replies & advice would be appreciated.

Thank you, Heather

rectoseal?

Last night I was taking a shower and noticed feeling like water balloon was about to fall out of my vagina. I had to hold it in. I went to bed and when I woke up it seemed fine. I took it easy today but it is still there and I feel generally not great.

When I was pregnant I was diagnosed with a rectoseal. It did not bother me and I'm assuming that this is what is currently bothering me. BUT I don't know and I was wondering if anyone out there has had something actually popping out of their vagina and what to do about it.

? about birthing with rectocele and bladder prolapse

im going to be having baby number 4 any day now. although i havent seen a dr ,i know i have a rectocele and my bladder seems to be coming down as well- this just all happened around my 6th month of pregnancy. it seems to worsen when im sitting on the toilet having a bowel movement but then goes back to where it was a little later. so what im wondering about, is there a better position to birth in? usually i birth in a birthing glider chair that i have but when i sit in the upright position it feels like everythings going to be pushed out of me. so i was thinking of trying to birth on my side but then i heard that would require more pushing and thats what actually makes the celes worse and an upright position allows for less pushing and the help of gravity.

2 mo update

I'm about 2 mo pp and thought I'd update a bit. my rectocele is still in hiding. my uterus is quiet and I haven't gone looking for it. the cystocele, however, is getting low and uncomfortable. could just be that I'm slouching when I bf the baby, but I'm thinking maybe its related to all the hormone shifts as it feels like it used to the week before my period.
I'm back to the firebreathing now that all bleeding has stopped and recently been doing the, forgot what Christine called it, the 'turn the hips out, bend knees and bounce' thing as described in Christine's blog a while ago.

by the way, has anyone figured out a way to sling the baby with good posture? having a hard time with that.

Pessary vs Sea Sponge?

I am new here, and to prolapse, and am trying to formulate my game plan. I have read mention of using Sea Sponges to hold the uterus up, but cannot find further information. Can anyone tell me more about this or link me? Are Sea Sponges preferable to pessaries? Or are each for different type of prolapse? I have uterine prolapse w/cystocele. I am experiencing stress urinary incontinence, pain in my pubic bone and varicose veins. I would LOVE to get some relief. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Aloe Vera for vagina

I am new to the forum. I am 69 y/o and read in one of the forums about rubbing Aloe Vera on the vaginal area. On the bottle I have, it says not for internal use. Is it okay to rub it on the vulva do you think?
