Colonics and Rectocele

Hi everyone, I have been away for a while as I've been dealing with chronic, systemic yeast issues since November. Things are improving now that I'm working with a naturopath. She has suggested that my rectocele might be contributing to my chronic yeast as things are not emptying the way they should be. She suggested that, along with dietary changes (I've been on this anti-candida diet since November!) I should try colonics. Has anyone with a rectocele had this sort of issue? Have you tried colonics? Is it bad for the rectocele?

Thanks everyone!

elective cesarean

There is a discussion taking place on another board (we would join in if they wouldn’t delete our posts and ban our presence for disagreeing with them) about elective c-section going something like this:

“My friend, who is a size 2, just gave birth to a 9lb. baby. She ripped up one side and down the other and is on pain meds so she can't nurse her baby. Her doctors admitted her to the hospital early and put her on a pitocin drip because they knew it was a big baby. It makes me angry about these clueless docs that have our lives in their control. I don't know why they don't see the light about c-sections.”

WHOLE WOMAN BOOKMARK

Hi Everyone,

Some months ago Louise drew up a very lovely bookmark to be posted on the website so readers could print and distribute them in hopes of bringing more women to this work.

We posted the bookmark in the Resources section under LINKS.

Louise went on vacation some time after that and I wanted to wait until her return to announce the beautiful work she had done on the bookmark. Then I completely forgot about it until tonight! I have begged her forgiveness and ask all of you to take a look. I would also be very appreciative if you would consider printing them on cardstock and giving them out to mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, and women on the street.

Shoes

Over the past year, I have been trying out different styles of shoes to see how they feel with the posture. I was an avid Dansko wearer for years, and still like them. I also love Birkenstocks, yet they've become harder to find in the US. Apparently there have been some issues between Birkenstock and Birkenstock USA.

I also recently bought a pair of "Earth Shoes", the ones with the "negative heel technology". They took a week or so of getting used to, but I absolutely love them. I read back posts regarding the heel and posture, and what I have personally found is that they facilitate good use of the posture because my tendency is to pull more into the posture as a result of the heel technology, in a very natural sort of way. I actually prefer wearing them to going barefoot.

Proper Breathing During DVD Exercises

Can someone please clarify the proper breathing for the Anterior Vaginal Wall Lift? Is it inhale as you tuck your chin under, exhale completely as you round your back, and then inhale again as you come back to the starting position (flat back)? I am not sure I am doing it properly. Thank you for your help -

DO-NUT RING

hi there girls.
3 days ago I had a "ring" fitted, I wasn't told the posh name for it, but on looking at this site I would imagine it is called a do-nut ring.
Since having "it" fitted my leaks are worse!
I need to know if this normal until "it" settles in, or should I go back to the hospital?
I have no pain or discomfort with it.
I feel dissapointed at the moment because I was expecting to be in control once again.

Rectocele -I'm only 28! Help!

I was just diagnosed today with a Rectocele. This was after going to several gynecologists (who originally told me that it was muscular), and having a colonoscopy. I am completely freaked out, and just feel so helpless. The protrusion I feel is far up in my vagina, towards the back, and kind of feels like a finger popping in. Finally today, after a very thorough exam by 2 doctors in the office, they found my rectocele.

I have a 14 year history of vulvodynia and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, which complicates everything, and am just so beyond sick and tired of these problems. The doctor told me that I am very young to have this (which made me feel worse) - it is something that I can have treated, but that it is something I can live with. Well, this is not something I feel like I can live with! I can barely have sex as it is, due to the vulvodynia, and having the rectocele is overwhelming to me. The doctor also said that I could have Physical Therapy to try and help - I am so pessimistic about this because I had a year of internal manual PT for the vulvodynia with very limited results.

Raw Breakfasts

Anyone have ideas for all raw breakfasts that can actually get me through until noon? Juice and fruit does not do it. I have a nursing 25lb. baby who, because of severe allergies, is still existing mainly on breastmilk. I think this makes my energy needs higher. Just so you know, because of little guy's allergies I can not eat any dairy, oats, corn, or wheat or any of its relatives-even sprouted! We are not sure about tree nuts yet, so I avoid them too, except in very small quantities. He is not allergic to eggs so I live on scrambled eggs and rice cakes but would rather eat something raw for breakfast-I have just run out of ideas.

New here with questions

Hello, let me first take a moment to introduce myself. I am 28 (soon to be 29) year old mother of a 5 year old that was born by csection due to being breech. I am also the mother of a 9 month old that I gave birth to by VBAC. I am soooo proud of that!!
I have diagnoised myself with mild cystocele and rectocele. They may be worst than what I am thinking, however they seem to go away when I tighten up my muscles. I am also concerned that I might have a prolapsed uterus because my cervix seems lower to me than it ever was.
My questions are....

1) Does this mean I can not have any more kids without causing further damage or making things worst?

Sponges, questions, etc.

Hi All,

So how exactly do sea sponges work? Is this something I should try? I have a prolapsed Uterus. My cervix is usually a finger tip maybe a bit higher from the VG opening. I do not think I have any of the other two cele's. No symptoms I am aware of... Would the sponge help? Or just push out? I can and still do use tampons if that makes a difference.

Also, is there any special care advice when having a period? I do feel "lower" during this time.

On a good note, my back pain is getting less and I can relax my tummy most of the time! I still all of a sudden realize that I'm holding it in though! Can't wait to feel "natural" in the posture. I do find I am starting to prefer it a little bit more.
