cystocele that bleeds?

Hi

I have posted as recently as 2 weeks ago. Didn't know if I should use the same thread?

I have a grade 1-2 cystocele and am now 8 weeks postpartum. I have had bleeding this week. Not a little and not a lot, sort of in-between. My lochia stopped at week 5 so have been blood free for 3 weeks. I called my gyno and she said "you could be having you period. If it doesn't stop, you need to go to triage".

I ask this question b/c I have not read it posted.

Do cystoceles cause bleeding? Together with bleeding do they cause mild stomach pains?
Also with increased flatulence issues does this mean that I could be suffering a rectocele as well?

scared!!

Hi,

I am new to this site. I have 3 children, my youngest being 4 months old. A couple of weeks ago I got bronchitis and was coughing so bad. Then I started to notice a bulging feeling in my vagina. I went to see a urogynecologist and he said I have a cystocele, a urethracele and a perineocele. He said on a scale of 1-10 I am about a 2 and he did not recommend surgery, but for me to be fitted for a pessary and to attend physical therapy and do kegals.

I am very upset and scared. I am trying to keep a good outlook by telling myself atleast it's not life threatening, I have 3 beautiful children, etc. etc., but honestly I feel angry and scared. I feel too young to have this, although I know this knows no age.

menopause?

HI Christine,
In another post you mention about how menopause is affecting you. I would love to hear your, and anyone elses, thoughts on how menopause affects prolapses if the posture is in place. What can one expect?

This is (I hope!) a ways off for me, but something that does cross my mind. All the doctors who said I wouldn't need surgery (so not advocates of it!) have had differing views--the I might need a slight "nip" when I am 60, or that I"ll be just fine, or that I might have a bit of incontinence then. But they are obviously coming from a different place, so I'd be curious to know thoughts from the WW perspective.

Physioterrorist

Hi ladies,

I was lucky enough to get a cancellation appointment with a continence Physio today. Amazingly quick for the NHS but just rang at the right time :-)

I am only joking about the 'terrorist thing - she was very nice really!)

She examined me and said that she didnt think the Cystocele was too bad and would grade it as a 1. She made me cough and bear down and said it was still only slight. I know this was because I was lying on my back as when I stand it is at the opening to my vagina, but still, she said it wasnt bad.

She reckons that because I am only 7 weeks pp and still have relaxin and other pregnancy hormones in my system there is a lot of scope for healing. She did test my PF muscles and said she'd give me a 2 and a half out of 5 and that I was contracting them correctly but I just need to strengthen them more. She suggested I do 5 sets for 5 mins every 3 hrs (when I feed the baby) I have read that you guys dont reccommend too many kegels..do you think that is too many?

Herbal Supplements

Has anyone had any luck using herbal supplements? I am thinking about using fish oil, evening primrose and red raspberry tea. I was wondering if anyone has used any of these and if so, what are your comments?

what is the posture

Ok now that I have received such wonderful adivce, can you tell me what the posture is?

I am excited about my surgery

I have a severe cystocele..Do not have insurance nor the money to pay for the operation..Just learned today the the rehabilitation center in my county is paying for my surgery..I am estatic..I am so much looking forward to not having to sit on my bladder everytime I sit down..Also it sure gets in the way at other times if you know what I mean..I am a 45 year old mother of 6 and I am thrilled...

heavy feeling of rectocele

The worst part of my pelvic floor prolapse is my rectocele. I do not like the feeling that my bottom is falling out! I try not to dwell on it because it creates anxiety and this affects my sleep.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions about how to manage these unpleasant physical sensations? I'm trying to put it out of my mind and this is difficult since I can feel it all the time.

Thanks.

Brunhilda

vaginal opening

Hi ladies,
I am not sure if I have prolapse or not... I do have some symptoms but when I look in the mirror at my vaginal opening I am not sure what I am seeing...
I will try to describe: The opening is about 1cm wide and as I look at the opening and move my hymen remnents aside, I see some tissue that "fills" up the space. I have determined that if I push my finger a little bit inside the tissue moves to the front towards the bladder side. Is that a prolapse? Or is that tissue supposed to be visible for everyone? Since the vaginal opening is not going to be hollow, I assume I will see some tissue? I welcome anyone else's opinion if you don't mind... oh, and I checked this standing, not laying down.
