Pessary vs. sea sponge

I have been diagnosed with a cystocele prolapse with the uterus going along for the ride. I have decided, after reading the first few chapters of Christine's book, definitely not to have the surgery, but I think I should try a pessary or sea sponge. I would love input as to which one you guys think is best. Also, on May 11, 2006, UKmummy wrote that she knows of a great nurse practitioner who specializes in pessary fitting, as well as other methods of nonsurgical management for prolapse for anyone living in Arizona. I live in Phoenix and would love input from her. I am really depressed because of this prolapse thing and feel afraid to get up and do things and be active.

IVF Twins and Prolapse

Hi couldn't sleep stressing about everything and what I should do and luckily came across this wonderful site where alot of questions I had have already been written.

I'm 45 have IVF twins that have just turned 2 and still breastfed, have also a 24, 19 and 14 year old. Had tubal ligation 12 years ago and slingoplasty as I was leaking urine when excercising, then microsurgery 4 years ago to join my tubes back which was only half sucessful and then IVF. The result is a beautiful boy and girl (and also a horrendous prolapse). I delivered both vaginally but second baby got stuck after my cervix shut after delivering the first and they used vaccum cup and everything else I think to get him out almost having a emergency c-section but me pushing and determined finally got him out.

Question about purchasing video

I tried to purchase First aid for prolapse but I was using a prepaid American Express card and it wouldn't accept it. Can anyone tell me what forms of payment are allowed. I don't have another credit card to use at this time. Are money orders not accepted either? I didn't see any info on this where you buy the video..

Does pregnancy make prolapse worse?

I have a one month old and have prolapse. I have the book of Christine's and am implementing what I can. I notice differences already. Will having another baby make it worse? How long should I wait? I am only 25 and would like more children, but don't want to make it worse.

Dear Moderator,

I signed up for this forum in error. I did not realize what it was about when I signed up. How do I remove my name from this website? I feel very sheepish right now.

Thanks for you help.

Joanne

anybody did MRI or CT before? Jen, how did you finally find out you have prolapse or cyst? Did you did a MRI or CT?

Dear Jen,

I read your story in this forum, which I copied here (see the following). I am wondering how did you finally find out you have prolapse or cyst? Did you did a MRI or CT?

I decided not to do the surgery. but I am thinking about the correct diagnose tool, which can tell me my current pelvic stituation. the manual physical examination can not tell you that.

anybody did MRI or CT before? any bad side effect about them? how can we know whether our nerves, ligaments or muscle have been damaged or not? is MRI or CT can tell us about that?

Thanks in advance!!

Wow - this can be such a rollercoaster... I'm 34, with one great 8 year old daughter.

FIRE BREATHING WORKS

so I've been doing the fire breathing pretty regularly and today I worked up the courage to check on my prolapse (I stopped doing that because it wasn't improving and it was nothing but anxiety provoking to keep checking) and ITS VISIBLY SMALLER.
I honestly cannot believe this. I mean even though I could *feel things moving up with the breathing and I believe in the posture, etc, I didnt think it would *really work for me?!
especially since joining this site over a year ago things have gotten progressively worse, I thought I was just an unlucky one and wouldn't see improvement.
but this fire breathing is helping me

new member;multiple advanced prolapse

I am a new member, just found your site today. I was diagnosed with severe uterine prolapse, cystocele, & rectocele 2 yrs ago. I had a very difficult but successful preganancy. My son is now 10 mths old. I also have a 5 yr & 12 yr old. I am 32. I saw the surgeon again last week. he has scheduled me for surgery next month. I was ready until this week. The more research I do do. The more frightened I am. My Dr believes surgery is my only option. I have had 3 opinions. I am scheduled to have "vaginal hysterectomy,w/poss bso, poss sub urethal sling or tot sling, and cystocele & rectocele repair. Has anyone had or know of anyone that has had this procedure done? I am very nrevous I have no idea what to expect after surgery It seems that this is my only option.

Strange sensation in tailbone

I have noticed a strange sensation on my tailbone sporadically for the last week or so, and I'm wondering if this could have anything to do with my prolapse. This is a feeling of coolness or wetness - the first time I noticed it, I thought I must have leaned against something wet - but there was no wetness. I subsequently realized that this is apparently an internal sensation. I'll ask my doctor about it at the next opportunity, but in the meantime, I thought someone on the forum might have some insight. BTW: I have moderate-severe cystocele and I use a donut pessary for support.

Thanks for any feedback (:

What I have learnt about myself and my life....

Hi,

Just felt like saying something I was the one pregnant at 13 weeks pregnant and found I had a prolaspe which has now gone as now 20 weeks, it has totally overshadowed my pregnancy and I have thought about it everyday. Even though I feel great now, however I still feel as though I am living with it. My doctor does not seemed to be concerned and believes everything will be o.k. after the birth, which I am still planning on having a natural birth. I have my doubts and believe I will still have problems, but here are my thoughts on the matter, need to share, as most on this site feel nobody understands ( ie friends family etc.)......
