Just wanting to vent alittle

Hi everyone,

I hope this day finds everyone in good spirits and humor. I'm kinda like the rest of you. I'm always checking myself to see if my prolapse went away and some days I can barely see it and other days it's like jumping out in front of me. I'm kinda scared to take chances too. Iw ant to go swimming so bad but I'm scared to get in the water and scrwe up my prolapse and other things. It seems like I am wide open and I just do not like that feeling. It really does help to vent and let it all out. I'm so happy to have this place to release all of my thoughts. I keep asking myself if it will ever go away or will I end up having to have it all taken out? The doctors I see aren't much help. They want to do surgery because it's more money in their pocket. They are suppose to be working for us but it never seems that way. I'm glad we have this place to go to and help each other out. I'm thinking about buying the chinese herbs to see if that makes a difference. If anyone out there wants to talk or chat about this, feel free to email me: [email protected]

Better sex with prolapse

Hi everyone

I thought it was time to put sex back on the agenda, as it seems to be of general interest to most people on the planet, and intimately involves those parts of our body which are also involved in pelvic organ prolapse.

But when there are difficulties with sexual relations it seems to compound the difficulties we have living with our bodies.

There are lots of factors like positions for sex, vaginal and vulval pain and discomfort, lubricants, foreplay, self-image, dancing, creative use of pessaries (the mind boggles!), libido changes etc. Christine, do you have a Wholewoman Posture for making love, or is it just 'sit properly' or 'stand properly'? LOL!

Cervical Erosion/Ectropion

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well. I just came home from my 7th doctors appointment in the last 3 months and guess what....now they are telling me I have cervical erosion. Not only 10 days ago he did a transvaginal ultrasound on me and said I had a 2nd degree prolapse, which I already knew as did he and also a cyst on my ovaries. Well today, 10 days later, he tells me I have cervical erosion. Why couldn't he had told me this last week? This isn't the first vaginal ultrasound I've had, it's more like the 10th. I have to go back in 2 weeks to do cryosurgery on my cervix to freeze everything. Of course this will set me back because we don't have insurance. From what I've been reading, this is common to have and childbirth can bring it on. I just want to go back to being normal again. I've also heard cyro can have it's risk too. Is anyone out there familiar with this? By the way, how is everyone? Has anyone had any experience with herbal meds? I have been taking calcium citrate and B-12 and calendula cream for healing. I was eating yogurt every day but my doctor said that is a gimmick and it really has no benefit for your health and it's a waste of money. Good luck to everyone. Hugs to all of you!!!!!!!!!!

Any thoughts on a Pessary?

Hi there,
I'm a two time mom recently diagnosed with a Uterine prolapse and an enterocele. My ob-gyn is quite conservative and although surgery has been discussed (alot)- she would like me to wear a Pessary to see if it doesn't resolve my symptoms.

I've done a search here on the pessary ring and nothing came up so I thought I'd post. I'd really appreciate any thoughts from anyone about how and if it worked for them. Are there any negatives? Any insight at all would help.

Thanks a bunch.

Effect of birth control pills on cystocele/rectocele

Hello Everyone!

First of all I'd like to mention wonderful it is to see the membership grow so fast for this site. I hope this means that more women are becoming aware of these types of women's issues and finding support. The support received here has been invaluable to me.

My concern is as follows:

Nine months after the birth of my first child and the news of my prolapse I began taking birth control pills. My prolapse was very noticable & uncomfortable until the pregnancy of my second child (2 years) later. Now 11 months after the birth of my second child I am doing/feeling so well. My prolapse is hardly noticeable except during my period or if i do too much lifting/work.

Newbie With Questions

Hi Everyone,

This may be a little lengthy and I apologize for that. Anyway, I have lumbar issues going on and at first my spine doc thought I might S1 Joint Dysfunction. So, he put me into physical therapy and water aerobics. During PT I was doing back exercises along with pelvic floor exercises. About 6 weeks into PT I had SEVERE pain. So, my PT had me to stop and go to my ob/gyn. She diagnosed me with a cystocele and a rectocele; probably from doing the Kegel exercises...they just killed me. I have had a complete hysterectomy by the way. Anyway, I am scheduled to see a Urogynecology group tomorrow and am dreading it. Can someone tell me what to expect from the testing?

Cyclical changes in prolapse symptoms

Typically, on the first day or two of my cycle, I have almost no symptoms. Someone said that made sense because the uterus is lightening by shedding the lining. I have a primary cystocele and also up. Anyone else like this? Christine, if you are in, any thoughts? Hormonal? If so, can it be bottled??

On the intro to the dvd, it says not for use for women who are menstruating. Why is that?

Development of the Whole Woman Posture™

Hi Everyone,

I think there may be a bit of confusion about what the Alexander Technique is all about and whether it might be substituted for the ww posture.

In my first iteration of ww, which was an entirely different website, I had a download on the posture in which I described how I came to develop it. I won't recount the story here, but suffice it to say that it was built upon influences from several sources and my own sense of what is natural. Pete Egoscue taught me about the four sets of load bearing joints in the body, which must be held over each other for the body to function well; a few brilliant (and ignored) researchers taught me how female pelvic anatomy is actually created in the first place; classical Indian dance taught me about relaxing the belly and allowing the butt its natural curvature; the kriya yoga I had been doing for several years previously taught me to breathe through my nose and slightly tuck my chin while sitting cross-legged on the floor; and through reading his work from the 1930’s I felt I understood what F.M. Alexander was saying about freeing the head, neck, and shoulders. His methodology was all about effortless movement and nothing about moving the pelvic organs back into position.
