New Aussie, Pregnant and now have a prolaspe of some sort, some questions.

Hi anyone, everyone, very confused and scared.
I am going out of my mind. Finally found somewhere to go, after days of searching on the internet for information. Last week I was 15 weeks Pregnant, (this is my second pregnancy, I had my son 22 months, after 8 hour labour, no drugs or forceps etc, completely natural birth) I went for a walk and felt something buldge down below. I went home and had a look and nearly died, I thought I had a tumor or something I rang the doctor and got an appointment, overnight it went away. I actually thought I was imagining things, so I cancelled the appointment. Then the next day same thing happened and went to the toilet and found I small buldge, I then had a feeling about having a proplapse even though not knowing much about it. I saw my doctor and he said or you cervix has fallen into my vagina. He has only seen this once in pregnancy, and said it will fix itself in a couple of weeks when the baby gets bigger the uterus will go up and pull the cervix back into place and will be right to have a natural birth and don't worry about it, it will probaly fix itself all up and won't have a problem again. Out the door I went.

Just diagnosed....please help - is it possible to get pregnant and deliver after prolapse diagnosis?

I'm sorry if I'm repeating content but I don't know where to find info to hand on this since I've only just found this website (hurrah and hallelujah)..........I'm new to this whole thing and don't know where to start. I've debated whether to post or not but I saw a discussion on homeopathy and responded to that and figured I had to try and reach some other info out there... I've been in floods of tears and a whole lot of pain after a horrid exam 5 days ago with an ob who told me I have a uterus, part of bowel and bladder prolapse. I'm in the UK and haven't a clue about these other terms such as retrocele? Anyway, I had a horrendous experience giving birth to my beautiful son almost a year ago - blood sampling from his scalp, ventouse, epi, forceps, tear, suspected ruptured cervix and blood transfusion, infection in stitches which resulted in everything coming away, took 6 months to heal and then it felt the world dropped out of me. They've been telling me all's ok and I just have to heal (a year later?!) and I wondered why I couldn't go for a walk.....But now I've seen someone else and he's given me this news. Well, I guess that explains things....

The posture

To Christine:I want to tell you that the posture has been a wonderful thing for me to learn. I actually got a compliment on my posture by someone! (I must say that I was seated at the time)Even so I was amazed! I have always been a sloucher. From the fatigue I always feel because of a low thyroid/adrenal condition added to that scoliosis from a structural imbalance caused by an accident, I always had a compromised posture. Since I have been practicing the posture you emphasize I have approached what my correct posture should actually be. The scoliosis threw me off. I didn't know where my parts went. When I tried to straighten up I tended to over compensate for the spinal twist and twist in the opposite direction. I now remind myself and unfold from the twist to a better posture.

Pap Tests Anyone?

Well, since it's been almost 2 years since my son was born I figured it was probably time for one of those. I saw a Urogyne. back in January b/c I hadn't seen anyone since my 6 week checkup after my son's birth. The Urogyne recommended two obgyn's at a hospital right by my house. So, I finally called but they can't see me until October! Typical. So, does anyone else get pap tests yearly still??? I was just afraid that if I ever get a problem(i.e. yeast infection, etc.) I would have nobody to go to.

New member questions.

Hello everyone, I have just been to see a gynecologyst and have been diagnosed with a cystocele also a slight rectocele. My family Dr. said it would need surgery, but the specilast said I have a choice - to live with it - a pessary or - he would do surgery if I wanted. I had a hysterectomy 7 years ago- 57 years old.
I am thinking about a pessary, I will talk to my family Dr. to get her opinion. Its taken me 6 mos to get into see the gynecologist and all this time I have just assumed it would mean surgery.... I'm quite happy to find out it doesn't have to be.
I would really like to hear from any members that have tried a pessary.

myomectomy/muscle strength recovery

Hi again - Another thing I would like to know about is how people have recovered muscle strength after abdominal surgery. I had a myomectomy in 2001 - removal of large fibroid tumors, Without!! removing the uterus - i.e. no hysterectomy - I fought for doing it this way, as I felt it was very important to keep my uterus. The surgery went well, and I recovered well, but I've never gotten back to a comfortable belly/body since then - I 'expanded' before the surgery, as the tumor was equivalent to @6 months pregnancy size - and my belly is still very large and uncomfortable, as well as that I have issues re how I feel about how I look now. I know I don't do enough exercise (hardly any) and I really should start, but what I am concerned about is, if the abdominal muscles were cut (like a caesarian)is it much harder to lose flab and regain strength in that area? I'm 59, I eat a very simple vegetable/grain/fish & chicken style diet, I don't really overeat, but I can't seem to make a difference in this area, and would love to hear about how people have regained abdominal strength after surgery.

Homeopathy

I am trying naturopathy to help with menopause and prolapse. The naturopath has given me the homeopathic remedy Sepia in the hopes that my ligaments will tighten up again. Has anyone else any experience with this approach?

Underwear

I'm new, so my apologies if this is an old question -- but does anyone have suggestions to help with that annoying feeling of sticking to the crotch of your underwear??

Vaginal Burning/Dryness

For the past couple of months during the last couple of days of my period and for a few days after that, I've had a horrible burning on the outside of the vagina/labia area. It feels very dry and irritated but doesn't itch. I tried the Monistat powder but it just seemed to make the dry part worse. I've looked it up on the internet and all I could find was hormone therepy stuff, I'm 30. I've never had this before and it is just aweful. The only thing I can think of was that I got these all natural maxi pads (7th Generation), but I got them b/c they were "all natural" less irritation, right?? What can I do for this?

DAMAGE, DENIAL, AND PERPETUATING THE SURGICAL CURE

There seems to be a behavior that some women who have experienced radical reconstructive pelvic surgery for prolapse adopt as a survival mechanism to help them cope with the very difficult reality that the “repairs” they hoped would cure them have actually changed them in ways beyond their ability to comprehend.

The following is a classic case.

A couple of years ago a woman began searching the Internet for a surgical solution to the same post-partum vaginal wall collapse so many of our young mothers are experiencing. She never posted here, but did mention Whole Woman™ elsewhere. Let’s just say she didn’t understand the concepts and was determined to find a surgical cure.
