acupuncture update

hi

i went to a facial acupuncture seminar this weekend and i was put with another acupuncturist student to practice some wrinke busting needling on each other and i filled out my form for her about my medical history, before whe practiced on me

When she read my form she said "oh yeah i used to have a uterus prolapse but it's gone now". I allmost fell off the table i was lying on:) She said she took herbs and had acupuncture done and it reversed her's.

I asked her had she done anything special in terms of acupuncture needle location or technique and they were nothing outta the ordinary, nor were her herbs though she did add her's had been a mild one.

elasticated waist bands

i think im posting in the correct forum,if not i appoligise.

my mum,who has had her bladder removed due to sevier prolapse and lack of bladder controle was told some time ago that the wearing of elasticated waist bands on her clothing has not helped but made her condition worse.this is due to the elastice allowing her bladder to over fill and not giving her the feeling of wanting to empty until its to late.what do you think of this explanation.i have since stoped wearing jogpants with elasticated waist and have found im not having as many accidents as i used to .do you think its all a load of rubbish or somthing to thinkabout.

Nature's Platform and squatting

After much consideration and research on the subject, I think we're going to purchase a nature's platform device for squatting. I have found that not sitting on the toilet seat has helped with my symptoms, and that squatting for bowel movements facilitates their ease. While I will probably still half-squat to urinate, I think it will be useful to have.

For any not familiar with Nature's platform, I encourage you go go to their website (naturesplatform.com) and read all the great info on there as to the health benefits. I'm not trying to promote their product, just to share with you my experience and conclusions.

Is the search option not working on WW?

Hi everyone,

I just found out that Christine is no longer with us on an every day basis. I can certainly understand why, but will miss her steady hand guiding us on our journeys. I was wondering if anyone noticed that the search option is not working. I put in the words cervix and uterine and nothing came up. Am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks,
April

please help, questions about birthing after prolapse

I have a friend in Finland who just found out she has a prolapse and she is 36 weeks pregnant. I had two questions:
1) Would she be better of with a c-section???
I know that labouring can easily make things worse, although I have also heard cases where it did not make any difference for the prolapse. I have myself actually wondered why is that... Could the difference be in the kind of prolapse: i.e. if a woman has only uterine prolapse then the labor doesn't hurt her situtation so much, meanwhile maybe birthing is more harmful for rectocele and cystocele...? Anyone knows anything about this???

ovarian cyst

Hi everyone, how is everyone doing? I was doing ok myself for about 6 weeks and then I started having vaginal pain again. I made an appointment to see the OBGYN and he examined me again and said my glands looked ok and he took note of the other symptoms I was having. I told him of my irregular periods and my breast tenderness and frequent urination and how I haven't been feeling right down there in a while. He did a vaginal ultrasound on me and we both so this black mass on the screen and he said it was a ovarian cyst. He put me on heavy duty birth control pills and wants to see me back in a week. He said this could be the cause of my peeing alot and my skene's glands being swollen the first time. As of right now they are keeping an eye on it to see if it grows or not. He also said the 2nd degree prolaspe was still there. I'm wondering if the cyst is contributing to the prolaspe by putting pressure on the uterus? I was really not wanting to be on hormone pills but now I guess I have no choice with it.

ROLL CALL! Who's out there and how's it going?

Hi everyone. Since Christine is hard at work on her book and dvd and isn't able to be here as much, I thought it might be good to get back in touch with those of us who are hanging out on this forum. Tell us your name, how long you've been here, and how's it going. Anything new you are doing to manage your symptoms.

I'm Marie, I've been here about 3.5 months. I discovered prolapse a number of months after the birth of my youngest (3rd) child. Doctor says I have between stage one and two cystocele and UP. Was totally despondent 3 months ago. Now, I still have symptoms, but am getting better. I'm doing my grieving and have more acceptance of my condition. I do the postures (sitting and standing), dvd exercises, Alexander Technique, kegels with resistance device, accupuncture and herbs, meditate and pray, talk about it, come here for encouragement, information and support, and ended up here because the mere thought of surgery scared the begeepers out of me. I'm looking for healing around every corner.

Prolapse and fibroids

Well, actually I'm not sure if they're fibroids or hemmrhoids.
About 2 months ago, I started bleeding for about a day;then it stopped. I'm 53 and hadn't had a period for about 6 mos. so I wasn't sure if it was a period or not. The same thing happened the next month. Now, it happens about every other day or so.
I've had uterine prolapse for about 2 years. These fibroids or hemmorhoids suddenly "appeared" about a month ago or so. They are so annoying. Now, I have to worry about 'feeling' them when I sit down.
Anyway, I was wondering if these 'things' could cause the uterus to protrude down further? Am I making any sense?

HI--------CAN STILL SEE CERVIX

Hi---well I am 7 weeks post opt and my NEW PROLAPSE hasn't gotten any worse but it is also not any better. I am still having some pain in my left buttock and it radiates down my left leg. The prolapse happened about 3 weeks after my surgery and I am still upset because my DR. didn't seem to care at all. I know anything can happen after surgery but he talked as if complications were rare and now I'm stuck with either more surgery or just living with my new prolapse. It's not, as bad, as before my surgery but definitely not the way I thought it would be. I am just biding my time now and trying to go on with my life. I am still not 100 percent well from the surgery and feel let down by my doctor---who never explained what the surgery would entail nor how I would feel afterwards(even without the complications). I don't trust the medical establishment and I think they just want your money and could care less about you as a person. I know I made my own choice to have the surgery but at least he could have acted concerned about my problems. When I go back to his office on July 3rd, believe you me, I will have a conversation with him about all my feelings and frustations. He may not want to listen nor hear what I have to say but hopefully I can give him some insite into patient information and trust. He will probably just suggest more surgery but I won't allow him to just brush away my problems per scapel----he is going to give me a detailed reason why my surgery didn't work. Thanks For Listening, and hugs to everyone. Angel.
