Doctor wants to induce

I have read a few of the similar topics, but I was wondering if some of you could offer your opinions. I am 36 weeks pregnant and my doctor is recommending that we induce 2 weeks early in order to ensure that the baby is smaller. My first baby was 9.5 lbs and it looks like this one is of similar size. Her thinking is that this might limit further damage if the baby comes out when smaller. She said that she'd support me no matter what I decide to do though. I have been against letting this happen, but not sure I know how to push forward without the support of my doctor.

know it works, but......

I tried this for a while and was so encouraged when I had sex without pain and felt so much better. However, started back to college and got out of shape and now feel worse than ever. I have even considered (well - briefly in thoughts) surgery cause I am hurting so bad. Has anyone ever felt like you actually have a vaginal hemorrhoid??

wikipedia

just out of curiosity, Christine have you tried to put stuff on wikipedia? maybe another place to spread the word? quick search on there was the basic stuff (plus prolapse in parrots.... ;-) )

uterus and bladder prolapse

I learned a few days ago from my gyn that I have prolapse of uterus and bladder. She presented me with the surgical solution and I cried all day afterward as I waited to hear when my surgery would be. We planned to have it done just before christmas so that I would have support at home for recovery. While I was researching whether or not to have my ovaries removed in addition to the uterus, plus bladder repair, I found this site!

One year pp update

Wow, I actually have a few minutes (finally!) to post an update!

Birth control pills and rectocele

Hello, I'm new to the forum and have developed a rectocele after a D and C proceedure in July, I feel like my life has not been the same since that fateful in July.I have so many ?s, there is so much info on the WWW its hard to sort it out. I have seen a Dr who is a Urogyno. and he recommends I take BC pills which I have been on due to bad fibroids, hence the D and C,I do not want a hysto. He thinks the Estrogen in the pills will help. I can't find any info to support this. This is my first question for the forum. Has anybody heard of this type of therapy?

Thanks A bunch !

pessary study

Here is an interesting article on pessaries, which very much parallels our own experience. However, the perspective of choice between pessary and surgery is inaccurate, as I pointed out in my comment. Studies such as these and announcements of newly marketed vaginal surgery devices are very commonly run by e-commerce news services, as female pelvic surgery is one of the biggest markets in the world.

update 15months PP

Just wanted to drop in and say hello to everyone and give alittle bit of an update for the ladies who are new here and are maybe feeling alittle scared about their bodies postpartum.

Kegels making things worse?

What have been your experiences of kegels making certain conditions worse? I am not talking about WW style kegels, I am referring to the traditional kegels which most of us were taught and probably continue to be taught. I have seen some comments to this affect and would love to learn more. How can old school tighten your pelvic floor exercises exacerbate POP?

Internal work

I am hoping to hear from people who have had any sort of internal work and what their experiences have been. Obviously there is a lot of exploring and 'checkoramas' with POP and splinting with rectoceles, but I am looking for people's experiences of any sort of work on the muscles, tendons, ligaments, bony pelvis, etc. Maybe this is something you have discovered for yourself or something that an osteo or physio might have done with you.
