If you knew then what you know now...

I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by trying the articulate the many things I am hoping to learn more about on this forum, so I will start with a simple question for all of you. A bit of background: I am an independent homebirth midwife and work with women one on one throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period (weeks, months, and often still have contact years down the road). Thankfully, many factors are often in the favour of the women I work with to allow their pelvic region to usually be fairly unscathed (quality health, unhindered non-drugged normal physiological birth, etc).

Our Hawo Grain Mills are here!

Hello Everyone,

Please visit the WW store to see our new flour grinders. I have wanted to offer these to our community for EVER, but it took a while to be able to do so. I have been using Hawo mills for almost 20 years and absolutely love them. They are very expensive, but the result is finely stone-ground flour at the flip of a switch.

Enjoy!

Christine

A simple hello

Hi everyone,
Just want to introduce myself. I have been pouring through this forum for the last few days and have been captivated by the wealth of info. The stories you have all shared are full of absolutely golden information for learning and helping POP (can't believe I used the lingo!). Looking forward to spending some more time on here.

Yet Another Newbie: and fear for the future!

Greetings to everyone, from here in the UK... I am new here, too, and have been reading wholewoman entries for weeks. Thank goodness Christine’s urls came up whilst researching and seeking help!

New to all this, going through hard time

Well here is my story (sorry if it's too long) I delievered my daughter just over a year ago. Had a great pregnancy, labor went well, pushed for 45mins and remember looking up at my doctor and saying "yay, no stitches right?

Faecal urge incontinence in elderly women

Hi All

I have a friend who is 72, who has just had a couple of incidents of bowel urgency a couple of days apart. She is having it investigated medically as she has some underlying medical conditions and takes some pharmaceutical medications.

I am wondering if there is anyone of similar age in our Membership who has experienced this as a part of POP and/or general ageing?

Cheers

Louise

prolapse

Hi everyone,

I find this site very comforting.

This in spite of the fact I have had a hysterectomy, (ten years ago) and keep reading that there is no evidence that the excercises, improved posture etc. will help. Can anyone speak from experience to contradict that? I would like to know.

I have suffered from a prolapse for three years and, so far, have managed to handle it, but now find that any extra activities (travel, moving house etc) make it much worse.

Here we go again!

Hi everyone - I posted a couple of times after my prolapse was discovered after my first bubs 2.5 years ago. I have to confess, although I have embraced the WW philosophy, I never practised it with the diligence it deserved, but nonetheless have managed to live quite well with my quite substantial celes.

Swedish back aka. kneeling chair?

Hi all,

I am wondering if a Swedish back chair aka. "kneeling chair" (think 1980s era) would be a good option for me. It seems to put me in the same position as Christine uses in the video (with the pillow under her butt), but it doesn't hyperflex my knees & put strain on my knee caps & is more comfortable for me.

Grain Mill

Does anyone have experience with grinding their own grain? Or, do you know where I can find a reasonably priced mill? Is there a certain kind or brand that you recommend?

Thank you for your input!
