Prolapse

Christine, I am 68 and now have hope there may be an alternative to surgery for me.I have been diagnosed with rectocele and cystocele prolapse. My gynaecologist has referred me to the local physiotherapist and provided a diagram suggesting I have a stage two cystocele; a borderline case apparently.I refer to your letters on the First Aid For Prolapse W/S and to Rosemary's comment mentioning "some abdominal work".Would the exercise regimen and the suggested posture conflict with "bracing" I need to do periodically for my back due the prolem with the third/fourth lumbar disc?. Jeannie?

Any young1's out there??? 24 yr old woman with cystocele......

Hi there,

Im new to this site, but god was it good to find some support. I had a mild cystocele since i was 19 after childbirth and since then i had a 2nd child and now have a moderate cystocele ( about the size of a lemon the consultant said) i found out just before xmas.

Need help and encouragement.

I have four children, ages 7, 4 1/2, 2 1/2 and 4 months. They have all been born naturally by midwives, three of them at home. Never in a million years would I have thought I'd have pelvic organ prolapse.

Newbee!

Hello all. I am so glad to have found this site. I really need the support. Reading the personal stories and advice on here has helped me tons. Lots of tears shed for finally feeling like I am not alone. Sorry in advance for the length of this. I just turned 31 in Nov and have 2 daughters. My oldest is going to be 3 on the 12th and my youngest is 9 months. I had both girls vaginally. I bounced right back after the birth of my oldest. With my 2nd, I started having major pains, like a bone on bone feeling, arond the 5th month.

Help me understand what abdominal muscles are for

Hi everyone,

Pessary trial

Pessary trial #1: The first day has revealed that the knob on my ring-with-support pessary gives a little too much "extra support" to the urethra, making urination more difficult and prolonged. Fail.

Next step: Return to the practitioner's office and try pessary #2, same size but without the knob. I'm hoping for greater comfort.

walking

I've been given a new pair of thongs (flipflops?) for Christmas, and the heel is lower than the toe by 3.7 degrees. This means when you wear them you are always walking up a slight incline. i think the idea is you use more leg muscles and burn more calories than if you were walking on a flat surface. I'm fairly new to this trying to look after my prolapse thing, and haven't really worked put how to "listen' to it yet. So, does anyone have any ideas as to wether walking on a slight incline would be bad for my POP?

Prolapse of Uterus

I have a second/third degree prolapse, I am 41 years old. I feel ok in the mornig but near evening hours I feel more discomfort. My job requires prolong standing. Doctor said hysterectomy is the final solution.
This can be reverse based on your experience??
As I will go towards menopause will it become worse than it is now?? I am really confused..
thank you

A bit confused??HELP!

Okay forgive me but I'm a bit confused. I had a vaginal hysterectomy 3 years ago..(have one ovary)...Had Bladder Surgery in March..which went great..and it felt so wonderful not to be pushing up my bladder at the end of every day.....now...out of the clear blue..I have rectocele........so will the DVD help my rectocele? My GYN tells me he can fix it by doing surgery...I prefer to try another method...??? I am so active and this really stinks....):

Bananas & Pomegranate Seeds

Hi all!

Have been eating a great light breakfast lately, and it tastes good!

Half of a banana, with a few tablespoons of pomegranate seeds is healthy for you, and is a great way to start the day!

Cheers!
