I am confused

This is the first time I have used this forum so I hope I am using it correctly. Can someone help me without being horrendouly technical. I am concerned about the response to FAQ no 39 where the answer seems to sugget that if one has had a hysterectomy there is no point in doing the exercises on the DVD as this 'method' won't work. Not sure what the 'method' is exercies or aomething ele. There is also somewhere, can't remember where, to the effect that a hysterectomy takes away part of the inside supporting framework and this is why exercise achieves little.

Does it get better (emotionally)?

Hi everyone, I am a brand new member and was hoping to get your collective experience about the emotional side of prolapse. I am 27 years old and almost 6 weeks postpartum with my first baby girl. She is beautiful and I love her so much. Unfortunately, the other day I decided to take a look at how things were healing up down there after the long pushing phase, episiotomy, and vacuum delivery. I saw the infamous "bulge" and called my doctor. My checkup isn't for another 2 weeks, and she thought it sounded fine and not to worry. Of course, it didn't take long to make a self-diagnosis!

Green Coffee Oil

Hi, I have been wondering if there would be something that we could drink or eat that could help the ligaments and fascia regain some strenght. I did some research on Pubmed (go to pubmed.com and type 'green coffee collagen' as keywords) and found a recent article saying that green coffee oil stimulates synthesis of collagen and elastin in cultured cells. It doesn't mean it would do the same in a human body but that would be great!

Twitching Pelvic/Groin Muscles

Hi everyone! I've been away for a while, teaching classes this past year. Now I'm off for the summer ... I bought the WW video a while back, and plan to start the exercises ASAP.

I've been doing well with the posture, although my uterus still feels very low, bothering me a bit on some days. When I was first dx'ed with prolapse, I was having pain, which I thought was from the prolapse, but my family doctor dx'ed a urinary tract infection - I took some antibiotics, started drinking cranberry juice, and I'm good to go.

where are the Jackquies?

We were so enjoying your company! I hope all is well and that your trip to the dentist, Jackie, went OK. :) Christine

Whooppeee!

why is prolapse devastating

I gotta be quick here but I have a pretty serious philosophical question.
If I couldn't run because of a knee injury or arthritis would I feel the same sort of sadness? Would it put me in bed for weeks the way prolapse did. Would I feel the black dog of depression?
you know I don't think so.
I think prolapse is uniquely tied to our sense of WOMAN.
What'd you guys think?

Non-Hyterectomy vs Hysterectomy

It's good that women who have had hysterectomies are benefiting from this forum too.
It might be my imagination - and please forgive me from writing this - but I think that there is more and more of an emphasis here on the hysterectomized woman.
As I said, it's good that they are here too, and can be helped here :-)
But I hope that we women who do not want to have a hysterectomy for POP don't become few and far between - so that one would start to think that results cannot be obtained unless one has a hysterectomy.

Chairs, seats, cushions and sitting posture ...what do you recommend?

Hello,
I've been lurking on this site for a while and just got signed on as a member. I've learned alot and feel a little less worried about the symptoms I've been having. One thing that I haven't seen on the forums is a sort of one stop spot for learning more about how to best sit to stay in posture. I know there is a lot of info on it, but it seems to be here and there and that, at least for me, is a little confusing. So, I thought it would be nice if some of you might post here what you have found that works for sitting.

baby fat and bad days?

Hi all postpartum moms -- any of you out there find that there is a direct correlation between dropping your baby weight and "bad days?" I've had a few not-as-good days (my preferred name for such phenomenon) and then today I magically fit into some pre-preg pants (low rise, of course). My days are all basically identical, and at this point, losing some inches is about the only thing I can think of to explain this two steps forward, one step back kinda thing.
