Retroverted uterus

Hi All

I am wondering if any Members with retroverted uterus have experienced their uterus moving to anteverted since beginning WW work?

I thought it was an abherration when I discovered that my cervix had moved from the back wall of the vagina to the front wall, probably some time in the last couple of years.

Ellenb80's recent topic where she raised the idea that a uterus could be severely anteverted made me wonder how mobile a uterus can be, and how a uterus could get into such a strange orientation (I guess it is strange? Maybe it is normal).

Learned something new

My mother is faced with an internal endometriosis diagnosis, and possible cervical cancer. She was telling me about it, and my grandmother came up.
Her doctor discovered she had cervical cancer after the birth of her 7th child, so they did a hysterectomy. At the time, this was common.
So, my mom mentioned the time my grandmother got a staph infection, and I remember this because I was around 10 and she almost died from it.
She told me it was from her prolapse surgery...and I was in shock!

post partum question

I am a newbie here and have a few questions. Here's a quick history of my prolapse....It began when I was only 24 after a lenghty lung infection which caused me to cough extremely hard and after six mile run on the beach after I got better. At first I felt like I constantly had to urinate and like there was a slight bulge, but then the urge to urinate was only present when I would walk...literally only when I would walk.

KEGELS THE RIGHT WAY

Hi All,

Throughout the life of WW I’ve striven as much as possible to make this information “self evident” to women. There has been enough gobblety-gook from textbooks, MDs, PTs and so forth. Women have to know these techniques work because they can sense it for themselves.

That said, I’d like to describe the way I believe pelvic floor contractions should be done.

First of all we need to ask the question, what are we trying to accomplish with kegels? Here is the true anatomy of the situation:

Female anatomy video about hysterectomy

Hi All

Check out this video “Female Anatomy: the Functions of the Female Organs” (available at http://www.hersfoundation.org/anatomy/index.html). It is all about what happens when you have a hysterectomy.

HERS Foundation is about "Hysterectomy Educational Resources and Services".

Homeopathy or accupuncture?

Hi everyone
I have been getting a lot of help with my diet from my nutritionist who is part of a wellness centre. She keeps urging me to see a homeopath and I was just wondering if lately anyone has had success with this? I have not tried anything like this or massage or electric stimulation or accupuncture etc. but was wondering if anyone recommends it?

Zelda

Has anyone heard from Zelda?

Has anyone heard from Anita?

a little sponge warning

Hi All,

I had a most unpleasant experience with the sea sponge yesterday that I thought I might share – particularly relevant for those with severe UP.

My two little sea pearls have been sitting in a cupboard for several years now, because from the beginning I couldn’t make them work for me.

But yesterday I had the idea that I would place the sponge alongside my uterus and push it very high up into the corner at the top/side of my vagina instead of trying to push and hold my cervix up with it as I had tried unsuccessfully in the past.

I rode a bike

for all you bike riders out there I wanted you to know that I tested out WW posture on a bike last Thursday. Here is what I had to do.....hang (well not really hang since my tailbone was lifting) my sit bones right off the back of the seat. Then I was able to lift my chest and lower my shoulders while keeping a nice curve to my lumbar spine.

Muesli

Hi All

Hey, I just did something a bit left field, and put sprouted mung beans in my muesli. Mmmm, crispy crunchy!
