still wondering about symptoms getting better...

Hi shiloh and alemama and Friends
Your posts have been so helpful for me. I am 37 and 12 weeks post pard. with my 2nd child...dealing with cystocel...I so want to not be aware of the pinching kind of pressure feeling...will this ever subside? Sometimes I try to be positive but other times it is sooo hard! I just want to feel better...I think I can handle seeing the dropped bladder it is just the dicomfort at this point that is hard!

Question...is gas a symptom of rectocel?

just trying to delve further into this...I have cystocel but wondering also if I have rectocel as well...some of my symptoms seem to match.

Sanctuary

I'm new here, I probably should be in bed as its 1.15am and both my children are sleeping, but I found this site a couple of hours ago and I feel like I've finally found a space for me and community of women who share the same issues.
Amazing.
Truly.

I'm 34 and mother to two girls - one of two and a half and a babe of 3 months. I noticed a bulge in the front wall of my vagina a few days after the birth of my new babe and had it diagnosed as a cystocele by my GP who suggested I try physiotherapy with a mind to surgery when I have "completed my family".

Kegels a waste of time?

Hi - I'm new to this website. I have prolapse which I first noticed after the birth of my second baby. Reading this website, it sounds like mine would be called rectocele and cystocele. From what I've read so far, I'm wondering if my physical therapist might be a waste of time. I've only been once so far but she basically has me doing kegels and an exercise similar to when you're trying to put on tight jeans. (Also she mentioned not straining and posture using the bathroom.

It's a Girl!

I am very pleased to announce I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl two weeks ago today! So, no longer mumwithone, but a very happy mumwithtwo.

My health has been very good. After a much better birth experience this time I was very happy to find that my POP remains where it was pre-pregnancy. I actually feel much better than I did after giving birth to my first bub so I'm hopeful I'll have a very good recovery.

Going to the gynecologist

I have not gone in almost 4 years. Does everyone hear go for their annual exams still after the POP encounter? I'm afraid that they'll push a hole in something somewhere or something. I've read that one doctor told the woman that "right here is weak" and pushed his finger into her back vaginal wall causing the rectocele. (sorry, me being totally paranoid; but true)

Searching the Forums

Hi All

I couldn't find a better place than this to put this topic. The Search box is not the most comprehensive search engine as it has no advanced features, and I always seem to be explaining how to use it effectively. I think I have it tamed, and can now find almost anything. Here are my searching secrets.

You will get a more manageable list of hits if you use more keywords, ie it is an "AND" search engine. eg I searched 'straining' and got 16 pages of hits. I then searched 'straining nature's platform' and it came down to 2 hits, not 2 pages.

lower belly in posture: completely relaxed?

The importance of maintaining a soft lower belly to allow our pelvic organs to settle forward is stressed as part of the WW posture, and I get that. It does have me wondering, though, if we are to go so far as letting abdominal tone go by the wayside altogether, leaving ab-strengthening to the guys?

Having been fit and relatively 'tight-abbed' prior to my prolapse's breaching, I still find myself, while not tightly 'holding in' my abs, subconsciously holding them firm to a degree, to the point where I have to make a point to allow my lower belly to totally relax.

Straining, rectoceles, imcomplete emptying blah blah blah

I am sorry if I am going over and over ground everyone else has covered. I did put straining into the search engine but am really not that adept at sorting through the posts. So here I am again. This issue of prolapse follows a lifetime of elimination issues. It seems my health curse is 'down there' ha ha.
