bladder prolapse

Is it normal to feel excruciating discomfort and feel disabled overnight from what appears to be a grade 1 bladder prolapse? - with hosp consultancy next wk. Can't sit, up every two hours in the night, can't function properly. I am in the position of saying please do surgery to fix this as my first attempt at kegels produced extreme pain about half hour later like a ripping/tearing sensation. I am used to running, weights at the gym, always being on the go and it feels like the carpet has been pulled out from under my feet.

books

Just came across this website: http://www.mypelvicfloor.com.au/

A woman named Mary O'Dwyer has written a book called My Pelvic Flaw. Has anyone else heard of this?

Sliding from grade 1-2 and back again weekly, horomones and menopause

Hi

I have not posted on here in awhile. Just letting things settle or so I thought. I am now 9 months postpartum and to be honest, have dealt with my POP issue for the most part. Almost always it is a non issue, but sometimes (usually due to lack of sleep, or eating bad food too many days in a row etc) it can slip again into a grade 2. I use the grades as that is what my PT says of my POPs.

Walking in Posture

Does walking in Posture naturally shorten the stride? With me, it does and it is the one facet that is the hardest to adapt to. I feel like I am walking with a stiff gait at times…most times, really, and especially if I try to hurry. I’ve come to wonder if it is just me or an effect of carrying the body in this way. I might need to fine tune something just a bit, still.

I refuse to go back to my old posture even for a few minutes. I can’t imagine how I ever walked through the world that way.

Anyone else feel a bit stiff? Kit

Peri-Menopause

I haven't been tested or anything, but since I've always had regular periods and now they are starting to do wierd things like I'll have a 28-32 day cycle for months and then go for 60+ days before I get a period--I assume I'm getting into the peri-menopause stage of life (I'm 47.) I also spot once in awhile now, which NEVER happened except in the beginning of my pregnancies (implantation bleeding, etc.)

Proper Procedure for inserting Pessary

I have a new pessary, donut shaped, following the doctor's instructions, fold it in half, insert so that it acts as a "shelf", but instead when I do it the pessary ends up sideways, instead of flat and disappears. I have to strain to bring it back down so I can retract it. Needless to say I have not used it since I left the doctor's office. It popped out that evening.

Help, any suggestions welcomed. I feel pretty stupid. I don't want to go back to the office for that.

hemorrage

Hi all,
I am quite sure that this is unrelated, but thought it couldn't hurt to investigate...it seems that since I have found the prolapse I have been hemmoraging with my periods. Is this possibly connected? Has anyone experienced this? Or just coincidence? The last couple of periods I have spent some hours bleeding so much that I had to stay on the toilet!

Does it ever really heal?

Just wondering since my (clueless) doctor said that everything would go back to normal and not to worry about it and I've found a few sources that said it can get better. Does it really go back to "normal" or does it just become asymptomatic? If it does go away, are you more prone to prolapse again? None of this really matters right now, I'm just curious. :)

Wahoo!!

Another asymptomatic day for me today. They don't happen very often but when they do I get a taste of what life used to be like and oh how I wish this feeling would stay.

Down side was my roids gave me lots of pain so if its not one thing its another. Saying that though I have enjoyed every moment of not feeling the prolapse, it won't last but I savour every moment on days like this.

The Business of Being Born

Have you all heard about this movie? I just stumbled onto it during my evening rant of searching on the internet for how things could have been different during my births.

http://www.thebusinessofbeingborn.com/

It is showing in Palm Desert, CA; Tulsa, OK; Huntington, NY; Omaha, NE (yea - this is where I am); and Seattle, WA.

I am absolutely going to see it. I'm glad I stumbled onto it before it was gone from my town. I can't believe how I just found it and it is here starting today. Wow - very fortuitous.
