prolapse photos

Hi,
Christine, are you still considering posting photographs of our prolapses to help us identify our anatomy?

WOMEN DANCED THE HUMAN RACE

I’ve been wanting to address both stubborn rectocele and urinary incontinence for some time, and guess I will put my other work aside for the moment to do so (sorry to Barbara, my piano teacher, for having to deal with a student who can’t seem to find the time to practice!!)

First of all, it’s possible that women with surgical damage (lacerations and difficult births that placed a lot of stress on the lower back vaginal wall) will not be able to affect the area much. It’s also possible that more intense versions of natural female posture are in order to stretch and break up scar tissue and literally throw the organs back toward their anatomical positions. We do not yet have enough data either way.

does anyone find the posture helps with rectocele?

i have been on and off the site for 2 years. i have a cyctocele and rectocele. i am 32 and having been doing the 'posture' for 2 years now. i think that it has helped but sometimes i am not sure if i am just used to the new location of these parts. one thing i still always notice is the pronounced pressure on the perrineum. it is sooooooooo annoying. there is no prob with bm but this pressure makes me constantly feel like i am going to loose my rear! i can feel the cyctocele pull up and out of the way with the posture but not the rectocele. any tips on excersises for rectocele specifically?

what is this?

Hi, I am 51, one vaginal childbirth at age thirty. I am a little overweight and don't exercise. My boyfriend noticed a lump in the backwall of my vagina behind my cervix. It is not always there but feels like a golfball when it is prominant. It has been there for several years now. I don't have health insurance or a gyno at the moment. Could this be a cystocele? My cervix is becoming more pronounced also and seems to be getting closer to my opening especially when I stand. Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

Thanks, Michelle

T-Tapp exercises

Does anyone know if the Teresa Tapp "Putting the organs in place" exercises are good for cystocele/prolapse?

Grandma Joy

I know this might be off topic but I wonder if you could keep Grandma Joy in your prayers, i believe the last time we spoke by email that she was expecting storms to come her way, please pray that she has been kept safe her family also. If anyone has heard anything could you please let us know

Removal of the Ovaries

I don't know anything about this and am looking for any advice help etc.
My sister just had emergency surgery last night and they removed her last ovary--the other had been removed previously in emergency surgery--so she is 38 and no ovaries.
Anyone know anything abut this and what she might expect or a place on line with info...I have been searching but have not found anything of help and thought I would turn to the collective wisdom here. I am wondering what she might be feeling, and what she could do herself to help anything she might be facing.

Been to the doctor

I went to the doctor this morning, first let me say she was so gentle and understanding, surgery wasn't mentioned till I mentioned it saying I didn't want it, her reply was it's your body Anne and we can work with this together. (she is great)
She said my prolapse was stable (bladder+uterus)and said it wasn't too bad she didn't grade it so I never asked.
As for the rectum she examined me and said the pressure could be coming from the rectocele but there was nothing dramatic there but she said it sounded as if i did have a rectocele, anyway I told her my bowel habits had changed since this happened and Ive went from being constipated to it being loose (bowel movements) she said just to make sure she is sending me for a small scope into the lower bowel just to make sure everything is OK but seems to think it is but she is making sure.

UP and fibroid tumors

I;m not sure what stage my prolapse is but now it seems I have a tumor 'growing' on it. EEK!! I have never noticed this before. From what I have researched on the internet, it is a pedunculated one which means that it grows on a 'stem'. Sounds rather gross, eh? Fibroid tumors thrive on estrogen and tend to shrink in menopausal women. Is there any natural medicine that I can take for this to shrink? Has anyone heard of Vitalyzm to shrink them?
I'm supposed to make an appt. with the OB/GYN for my yearly physical. He's been talking about a hysterectomy for about 9 yrs now. Hubby and I are researching options about the removal of this ugly, nasty tumor since I don't want a hysterectomy.

Is a little pushing the same as straining?

I have a bowel movement question as it pertains to prolapse. Ok, when having a bowel movement I know that we are not supposed to strain. Usually, when I have my first movement it comes out all by itself. Sometimes when having the second one I feel it kind of stop just before exiting. it just doesn't seem to have the same momentum. I have had to give a little push, not a sustained push and not what I would really call a strained push but a little push just the same. Once I feel a little movment, I discontinue pushing and breath deeply until it exits.

Is the little push that I am describing still considered straining? Is this going to damage me further?
