Having a bad day

Feeling scared and uncomfortable today. Having a bout of tears too. My uterus is very low today. My cervix is about 1/2 inch from my vagina opening. I hate the feeling of a bubble there. Like things will tumble out at any moment! I feel so unattractive. Funny how no one can see this, but I still feel like hiding.
Thank you all for your recent replies, as I am new to this and really appreciate the support. It's nice to know I am not as alone as I feel, but I wish none of us had to deal with this at all.
I have just ordered the second edition of Christine's book.
I am desperate for advice in the opposite direction of the Hysterectomy that was suggested to me.

Fasting and healing

If I was to fast for 10 days would my rectocele get better ?

Natures Platform

I have been reading about Natures Platform http://www.naturesplatform.com/
It makes good sense. I have read all the current and past posts on here but I haven't read anything
from someone who uses it and loves it or not....
Is there anyone that uses it in here?
Thank you

rectocelle

I have a rectocelle and have been contemplating surgery correct it. It really bothers me to have a small golf-ball-like thing hanging at the base of the vagina. I noticed it over a month ago and was worried it might be something serious and was relieved to hear that it is common. I came across this website today and now have been rethinking my options. I have ordered the book and exercise CD. Anyone out there have improvement after reading the book and doing the exercises? How long before you see results?

Prolapse improves after subsequent pregnancy?

I have heard this story from a couple of moms and wonder if it is universal. Those who found out about the prolapse and then experienced another pregnancy while very conscientiously following preventative measures whether they be diet, exercise, kegels, posture etc. noticed an significant improvement in the prolapse after the birth of the next child. I have read this story on three separate sites-including a midwifery site and a site for mothers of many young children. I just wondered if anyone here had a similar story and would like to share. I also wondered if this is the rule or the exception.

Perineal reconstruction?

A few days ago I went to see the top urogynecologist of my country. he graded both of my celes as grade 2/3 which did not surprise me in the light of recent developments. :-(

However, he did not recommend surgery because he thought things might still improve once I stop breastfeeding (well, I don't think he knew that I plan to do that in 2-3 years time, lol).

But he did recommend to do some 'plastic surgery' on my perineal body. The stiches did not hold there and therefore my vaginal opening is very long. He thought that such a correction would greatély improve stability in the whole region. He did not think it would help the celes at all but that my comfort would be much better. I can see his point because one of my main problems is feeling that everything is very open and that something might fall off...

New to this-- long post

Hi all,
I was told yesterday I have a rectocele a grade 2 I guess he called it.
Ok I have never heard of this. I have never even heard of "Pelvic Support Problems'.

So now I am trying to figure out what's next. I am 52, I have never had children. I told the doc I was having very painful sex ( that is what prompted me to make the appointment) I have a little difficulty having a bowel movement. If I lean forward it works ok. He said to put my finger in the vagina and push on the bulge and I will have an easier bowel movement.

My doc told me (yesterday) that I should do kegal exercises for 10 min in the morning and 10 minutes at night. Then next week he wants me to come and measure my kegal strength (something like that) he then wants to hook me up to some kind electrodes that do what I am not sure. I will have to come in twice a week for 6 weeks for this he said.

Bladder & Retal repair

Hi- I am 58 and 5 weeks ago had my uterus removed long with a bladder & rectal repair. Since then had a UTI 2 weeks ago and took Cipro and now have a yeast infection. Has anyone else had these problems? I called my Dr. to see what to use for the yeast infection and was told to use the Monostat 3 - and use the tampons w/cream. I found it very difficult to insert the tampon and could not insert very far. Not sure if this in normal??
If anyone has any comments - please respond.
I wish I had known about this site before undergoing the surgery. Thanks,
Sophie

Surgery #2 Rectocele

I just turned "50 on December 7, 2007. I was just informed by my doctor that my first rectocele has collapsed and I need another surgery to correct. I am going to see a Urogynecologist, which I did not know there was such a doctor. My doctor told me the only way to correct this successfully, was to go through the abdomen. I knew something was really wrong when every time I had a bowel movement I would have to push it out with my fingers. There are no guarantees that this surgery will be successful. I cannot believe this is happening! I would like some feed back on anyone who has had this happen because I don't know if I am going to have surgery #2 and if I would benefit from this. My husband and I are not very intimate any more because of this problem. I am in very good health. I weigh 113lbs and am 5'3. I thought this only happens to over weight people.

Chung Shi Shoes

Google Chung Shi and pelvic floor and you will find these shoes seem to be good for pelvic health! Anyone tried them?

QUOTE: And how could this be possible because of these shoes? In going to my physical therapist, he pointed out with some delight that because of the construction, one is forced into alignment with the pelvic region in a somewhat forward position with the rib cage somewhat elevated, something he had been trying to get me to learn to do on my own. The shoes do it for me and certainly help me to be conscious of it. One can rest on the forward part of the shoe feeling comfortable but being aware that the back of the leg is being exercised and stretched. By resting on the backward part of the shoe, the reverse occurs. I don't pretend to understand the physiology. But I do understand the absence of pain, the release of energy and sense of well being.
