Herbal teas

Hi, I went two months without any prolapse symptoms at all, then I started menstruating again after 10 months of having no periods (menopause, I'm 52). During and after the first period I had around Xmas I still had no prolapse symptoms but three weeks later I had another period and some symptoms returned after that. I was SO DISAPPOINTED - I thought I'd really reached a point where the whole thing had become trouble free. But even when the symptoms returned they were no worse than they'd been before so that was something to be thankful about. Also, over the last day or so they seem to be getting better so I'm hoping that a symptom free condition will re-emerge in time. But the point of this message really was to ask if anyone had noticed that herbal tea such as chamomile (I drink chamomile) seems to have a lightening effect on your prolapse? I hope I'm not imagining this, I don't think so! If anyone has had a similar experience with herbal tea, I'd love to hear from you.

Is there any hope for me?

Is there any hope for me? I read Christine's book too late, had already had the surgery for prolapse (which, surprise, surprise, failed within months). Went to a larger center from where I live to investigate further surgery ( I know, I know) and when the doctor told me she would be happy to perform the surgery, I asked questions about the success rate. Well.....it was more of a FAILURE rate, because she had to admit that it failed MOST of the time. I was incredulous. When I attempted to ask more questions, she became defensive and said she would not play "word games" with me! Is it any wonder she felt defensive? Here she is performing these procedures, being well-paid for it, knowing that the surgery will be a failure.

Prolpased Bladder Questions

I have a prolapsed bladder and have been told several times that it is very minor. One of my Doctor's called it, "unremarkable". One said I didn't even have a prolapsed bladder but that it is lowered, not textbook. (What a crock)...

Anyway awhile ago we talked about what it feels like and where it is located. I am curious what your prolapse feels like (symptoms). Lately, I am experiencing vaganial discomfort. It feels like something is out of place and sometimes stings. Is that normal? Perhaps stings is my discriptive word of choice but I am wondering if what I am feeling is normal to prolapse. I usually feel discomfort when sitting especially when I sit on a hard chair.

LENTILS

here is what we do with lentils
I made lentil soup- all the veges (carrots, broccoli, onion, garlic, peppers)
then I made barley and brown rice (takes about an hour)
and then I drained alot of the broth off the soup (I freeze it for a quick vege broth later) and topped the rice with the soup-
it was pretty okay (can you tell I don't like lentils?)

black bean burgers

I found a recipe for black bean burgers on this forum - but I kinda changed it- so here it is
1 can organcic black beans
1 cup of rolled oats

blend beans in bleander, mix with oats, form into patties and fry in olive oil-
if you add oil to the patties they won't stick to the pan-
also I put flax seed in mine and garlic
I served them on a bed of spinach topped with tomatoes
they were delicious.

ovarian cyst

Hi everyone

I had an ultrasound yesterday and my Dr sent me to a testing center to have it done. I went yesterday afternoon to pick up the results and it said I have a 5 cm cyst on my right ovary and not to rule out ovarian mass. I'm worried sick about this. Im already fighting not to have a hysterectomy because of my prolapse but now I have this cyst I have to battle with. I had 2 cyst on each ovary back in Sept 06 and they were both functional cyst 2.5 cm each but now a few months later I have this one cyst and the report doesn't mention functional anymore and the cyst on my right ovary has grown. I guess this explains why I am late on my period. You would think that if I had ovarina cancer, they would have found it on the 10 ultrasounds I had during my pregnancy 1 year ago and on the ultrasound I had in Sept 06. My husband told me not to worry so much but when I read the report and I saw how big it was, yep I'm gonna worry about it. Has anyone else had this before? I won't see my Dr for a few days so I guess I will worry until then.

exercise and periods and a yoga query

hi everyone:

i was curious about something.

i see on christine's dvd that it says not to do the exercises when you have your period. does that hold for ALL of them or are there some that i could, infact, do? i would love to have a few exercises that i could continue to do throughout the month.

also, though i realize there have been a few threads on yoga, i am still a little flummoxed but looking to start doing some. my issue is primarily a rectocele though with a bit of cystocele thrown in for fun. any thoughts on it's safety? usefulness? any postures especially beneficial and/or harmful?

posture???

I am new to this site and very happy to be able to discuss the topics of prolapse ect with other women! I am having difficulty finding information on this topic. I have a cystocele and rectocele at a stage 3. I am 51 years old and have been considering surgery but do not REALLY want to. I have started using a pessary about 4 months ago. I am still trying to get the correct size pessary for my body and prolapse. I am curious about a natural beeswax pessary but know of no resources.Does anyone out there know of a beeswax pessary resource or how to fashion one? I VERY interested in the proper posture and a video???? I am a massage therapist and devoted to a healthy lifestyle.

scared to become pregnant

i saw a urologist yesterday & was told that in addition to the cystocele that i knew of, i also have a rectocele. i am depressed & frightened. i am doing alot of "coulda, woulda, shoulda" in terms of the position in which i delivered (classic hospital births) my kids. i studied natural delivery extensively, and labored & delivered without interventions. however, when the doctor told me to flip on my back & push, i did so. in my better moments, i think that a lifetime of flat abs & military posture probably had as much to do with it! my husband & i want another child but i am fearful of not only how another pregnancy & delivery would impact my conditions, but also how i could even tolerate symptoms throughout pregnancy.
