Elliptical

Forum:

I used our elliptical for exercise during my most recent pregnancy and really enjoyed it, especially since it is an indoor activity and summer where I live can be dangerously hot. Now that I have developed a prolapsed uterus (3 weeks ppl), I am wondering if it is going to worsen my prolapse. I am now 8 weeks ppl and have also enjoyed Christine's WW exercises this past couple of days Anyone else use an elliptical? Thoughts?

Rectocele

Has anyone out there ever had rectocele surgery for.grade 4. I have been thinking about it, but I worry it won't help, or it might not work. I am 69 with COPD on top of everything else.

Haven't been able to work my German Shepherd for 4 weeks, but finally today I felt strong enough to walk him one mile AND do the Goddess Belly workout.

It is working! I am very active and this will not slow me down. Thank you once again for all of the posts to read.

Hanging From a Pull up Bar

Forum:

I was playing with my 14 month old at the park today and I briefly grabbed onto a monkey bar to try hanging with just my arms. At first I was leery about doing that but I cautiously wanted to try. I also have a pull up bar at home. Before baby, before prolapse, I used to really like doing chin ups and i even got strong enough to do a full pull up. Now I avoid trying to chin up or pull up. However, I've been wondering if it would do damage to hold on and just hang. If it were okay, I'd like to do it. Christine, do you think there's anything wrong with that?

Raspberry leaf tea

Forum:

I've read on this forum that raspberry leaf tea may be beneficial for POP.
Of course, I purchased it and have been drinking it frequently.
Raspberry Leaf tea is also high in magnesium, which is used to relax the uterus when a woman is having premature labor.
Since we are trying to strengthen these pelvic muscles and ligaments, would the magnesium in the tea work against us by relaxing these muscles?

Another Newbie

Forum:

I am looking for advice about walking. I am an avid walker. Usually I walk 3-6 miles a day. Well... 4 weeks ago something gave...and it was almost totally out of my vagina. Now I have a difficult time just walking at work.

I thought that I read in one of the posts that Christine has a dvd on walking??? But can't find it on the store website.

I am trying the breathing, and doing a few of the dvd's. Some improvement. I know that things have to get back into place. I am just impatient.

Uterine Prolapse

I don't yet have an exact diagnosis or prolapse grade, but my cervix is completely down in my vagina to the entrance, and sometimes out. About 10 years ago my former gyny said my uterus had not fallen, but that I had an "elongated" cervix. That was then.

One PP member's timeline

Hi all - I wanted to put this link in the Pregnancy and Prolapse section, for the benefit of any newbies who might be browsing there. One of our members has given us a great update on how she progressed over the course of the year. Not everyone will go through it just like this - there are so many variables and we are all a little different. But I think any pregnant or post-partum mom will find this post quite helpful (thanks Miss D!) - Surviving

12 Months pp update - hope and healing

So I promised myself (and forum users) an update at this point.

Aside from a recent bout of illness that has lasted weeks and weeks, I am pleased to report that things have improved greatly over the course of the last 12 months (11 since I realised I had prolapse, 9 since I stopped the kegels and really started working on posture).
I'd say the greatest improvements have been since my cycle kicked in at 9 months and things have felt much more comfortable vaginally.

Here is a time line to give an idea of my progress.
