Would you consider an elective C section?

Well, I was thinking about this today, while cleaning (on all fours of course). DH suggested this idea b/c I told him that I am absolutely not sure about future pregnancies and births b/c of this prolapse, are they worth it, etc.
Well, I had to realize, I have absolutely no idea what exactly triggers prolapse, the pregnancy itself or the actual birth?

PS: I am all about natural birth, I had 3 vaginal births so far, please do not think that I am an anti-natural birth person, okay?

Postpartum prolapse question

Hey Ladies,

I tried to get the concept of postpartum prolapse, but I failed, so I hope one or some of the wise ladies will enlighten me.
So there are 2 types of prolapses? How do I know which one I have (I am 6 months PP btw)? Are the outcomes different?

Bowel neuroanatomy and physiology

Hi All

I rave a lot about the complicated brain feedback pathways involved in pooing vs not pooing. Well, I have found a document that explains it all. A warning: it is complicated, but there is nothing in it that cannot be decoded with primary schooling in human biology, a good anatomy book and some commonsense. There is also a good glossary of laxatives etc at the end. Don't be put off. Dive right in, and you too can be an armchair gastroenterologist! ;-)

Tinyshinythings, Food for thought

Sally! LOL!!!

Oh my! Whose head did you bite off? And have you tried WW balms? I know what you mean about "at least it's not oestrogen". I have some fluffy head, body pain and short term memory loss, over what is normal, that I am dealing with at the moment, but 'jinee is OK with WW balms.

Some medico did roll his eyes at me a few months ago and suggest a trial of HRT. I figure that menopause is a normal process and I am loathe to introduce amounts of extra hormones into an already changed system. Vaginal oestrogen comes into the same category for me.

Displacement of Internal Organs

Hello, I am new here and I have uterine prolapse due to heavy lifting at my job I was only 20 then.

When I worked there I felt everything is moving down, was great pressure on my whole stomach, and uterus (the whole stomach was in terrible pain, and swollen, now it is bulging out, and I am often in pain esp. when I lift anything I feel pain and pressure on my uterus. Unfortunately, I quite this job too late... It passed 7 years since it has happened.

Surgery...Yes or No?

I have had a rectocele for ages...I am 63. Now it seems really really annoying and my gyn has referred me to a surgeon for a consult next week (May 7) In the meantime I have ordered Christine's book and DVD but have not started the exercises yet. I want to know if anyone can tell me if I should seriously consider surgery, or give the exercises and the positions time to work?

Hello, I'm new here--and question about the book.

I'm not sure if this is in the correct place, so please move it if its not.

First I want to say hello to all. I'm new here, but have been "lurking" for a week or so now.

Looking for a Ob/Gyn near Northern Virginia

Good day all -

It's been a while since I put up a post. My baby girl turns 2 soon. How quickly the time has gone. I have to start by saying thank you for those in charge of keeping these forums going on a daily basis. I haven't been posting, but return to the site often looking for the answers to many of my questions. I am looking for anyone out there that could recommend an ob/gyn in the Northern Virginia / Washington D.C. area. Hoping to find someone who has had a positive experience with their doc; a doc that might be at least open minded to the anti-surgury approach.

I'm Struggling..

Hi Everyone,

semi kneeling stools

This is one for Christine please. Because of my hip/buttock injury I find office chairs pretty uncomfortable and have been thinking about a semi kneeling stools. I'm now hesitating because they do put your body into an obtuse angle which you don't recommend for good POP management. Your advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sally
