Post vaginal repair

I had 8 weeks ago now, a Burch procudure and post vaginal repair. The reason was that I had incontinence that was very frustrating and getting worse. The DR said the post vaginal repair is always done with the Burch. I am 40 and have been healthy other than this and did not even have a stitch after vaginal deliveries of my 3 kids.

new blog up

Hi Everyone,

Just wanting to let you know about the new articles up on the Village Post. Of particular interest is the review of the scientific paper on the female spine. This is a monumental moment for all of us because it is the first nitty-gritty scientific support for WW’s assertion that definite spinal differences exist between the sexes.

Prolapse causes; the way forward?

Hi,
I had abdominal surgery following an accident as a child when I fell on to some prongs on top of a gate. This has left me with a large horizontal scar at bladder level. Later, because I was not getting pregnant, surgeons 'tidied up' the scar while freeing adhesions round my fallopian tubes, after which I went on to have four children. I still have all my reproductive organs!
I also had peritonitis, (appendix removed) at age three, so those muscles in my abdomen were also cut into.

Depression and prolapse

Hello there

I am new to this.

Whole Woman Village Post and General Update

Hi all. It's great to have the site back up! We're still working on the membership system and appreciate the patience of those who have expressed interest in becoming Village members. I should have it up by Monday.

Please be sure to let me know if you run across anything that doesn't work, is inconvenient or problematic. I should have the Whole Woman logo (above) linked back to the Village Center over the weekend.

Still breathing = : )

Well, I did it!!!

Newbie wih MAJOR Rectocele issues

I am currently 5 months PP (and breastfeeding) with what a call a MAJOR rectocele problem, I also have a cysto with no issues and low cervix. Gyno has suggested a proterior vaginal repair. I am only 26! I need some help with learning how to live with this, and wonder if it will ever get better. I have ordered the book and DVD and will start once it arrives. Any thought would be appreciated.

Here is a bit about me.
1st vaginal birth in 2004 - girl - 8 pound 2 - VBAC due to baby in distress. I have had to "splint" with most BM's since then BUT though it was normal due to child birth.

Second pregnancy with prolapse

I have been searching through to try and get some ideas - but couldn't find anything (may be looking in the wrong place). I had a moderate bladder and rectocele prolapse three weeks after the birth of my first child. (It took about a year but is pulled up and liveable most of the time) I am now 20 weeks pregnant with my second and want a normal birth - think my specialist wants a c-section. Are there any mothers who have gone on to have a normal birth after prolapse - and did is make is a lot worse - I can manage what I have now. Am not sure which path to choose - help ...

Update -- 8 months PP

I thought now would be a good time to give my update since there are so many new moms posting.

At three weeks postpartum, while walking, I noticed that I felt pressure. I checked myself out in the mirror and felt a strange bulge. I totally freaked out. I went to the doctor the next day. He told me I had a significant cystocele. I started crying. I kept thinking how am I going to live with this?
