DVD

Is the workout on the DVD the whole woman workout? I am trying to do the workout in the book and I am having a hard time, holding the book open, holding the barre and doing things I've never done before! I am so excited about all of this. I hope the DVD has the Whole Woman workout on it!

help with talking to GYN doc

Hi! I had a hysterectomy (2008)for endometeriosis and cysts. They left one ovary. I still have cycles (no period) all the pain, pms all that. Over the last year the pain has increased to unbearable with sex and for at least 1 week a month agony for no reason. I can't exercise, walk, bike, nothing but lie in bed with heating pad. I recently lost my health ins. so I have an appointment on 4/9/2010 with gyn at local community hosp. Can anyone suggest how to get them to help me? usually they give painkillers and anti-inflamatorys and send me home. This does not help!!!

How important is an official diagnosis?

My OB, upon inspection, didn't give me an official diagnosis, he just said "sagging" and that he could "fix me right up". He did suggest I go get an MRI done and wrote a prescription. I haven't done it yet. He said it would help us know exactly where things are.

I have sort of self-diagnosed based on my symptoms. I don't plan on going back to that OB.

Now we are all back, Come to my Menopause party!

Hi Everyone, especially the Members from Way Back who posted in the "We're Back" topic! It is great to hear that you are all travelling OK on this unpredictable journey we call life. I am having a party. Please come!

full disclosure

I've been running- I think I mentioned that here somewhere else (different amounts of time, intensity and distance- but at least 3 miles and sometimes 6 or 7 each time I go- oh and some of it is road running, sometimes treadmill, sometimes elliptical). So far my prolapse doesn't seem bothered by the running.
But in case someone is considering taking up running as a result of reading about my running success I want to share a challenge I am experiencing right now.

workouts

I formally used The Firm workouts to very successfully get into great shape (before baby & prolapse). It wasn't the getting skinny but the strong arms and legs... muscle definition... it was great.

I'd like to do it again as I'm missing the stregnth and endurance my body had before. This workout combines step aerobics (14 inch step),free weights (3, 5, 8, & 10 lbs), and low impact aerobics. Also does some traditional core work... like crunches...

sketchers shape ups

Does anyone have any thoughts or knowledge regarding the sketchers shape ups or similiar sneakers out there that are supposed to promote better posture.... curious if it would help or hinder or make no difference in the whole woman posture.

prolapse

I love the new forum, so glad your back...I am still suffering with prolapse, mostly terrible bladder pressure, still inserting tampons which work well most of the time, i find them more comfortable than my pessary, i was just hoping that there was a new form of pessary shaped like a tampon, do you know of anything new..Please let me hear from you or someone with a cure, thanks, (Blondie)

Bladder Prolapse

Hi there,

Lightest, most efficient for both floor and carpet Vacuum

Dear all, that may happen to use a vacuum,

I am vacuumed out, in that I know quite a bit about vacuum cleaners, but still don't know what is the best choice, especially when one has pop and need ergonomic handles for one's hands.

I like the one in Christine's dvd, and that is a canister, not sure of the make though.

Miele is well made, but too heavy. It has a great Heppa filter, so that what you suck in, stays in, and does not get blown out. I learned today that they are soon to release a more compact Miele.
Anyone?
Thank you,
